Durrr, yeah...

Obviously count me in.

I'm interested ,as long as there is an element of combat then in happy to spend hour's digging in a position ,mine clearing ,phone line laying, gathering intel through stealth etc .
I do want to enjoy it though ,by this i mean i'm not really interested in personal suffering ,long marches ,sleeping in ditches ,48 hours without sleep etc ,i'd have loved that sort of thing as a teenager but now not so much.

I'm actually happy doing all of the above. Ordinarily of course I love my comforts but stick me in khaki and I'll sit around in wet mud for days.

Cheers

Charlie

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.

Whilst researching neo nazi groups (honest! ) in history last year, I came across an American group who only accepted gay members. I wonder if this monstrosity is of their doing?

I think the stiletto jackboots are a nice touch, though they may be difficult to find repros of...

to be honest i think the stiletto jack boot's would be easy to find from suppliers of another niche interest group, they may not be good in the field though as they aren't intended to be walked in ,maybe even Anne Summers .

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

Um, apart from the non-gaming kit collectors, isn't this kind of what we're all here for anyway?

Guys that's 19 in one morning with the promise of more to come. Fantastic! :happydance:
We will leave it a few days, see how we go then begin the process of establishing some parameters for the ideal game. But guys, let's think clearly and recognise we will ALL have to be open to compromises for the greater good.
My hope would be to do the following;
1) Establish a list of committed players looking for an experience beyond the skirmish type games who will attend
2) develop a short list of game scenarios. No more than two or three to start. Perhaps conduct a vote for the favourite
3) pull together a team to organise and put the game on
4) book a date the majority will be able to attend
Please, please think positively and put yourself out to make this happen. I'll do as much as I can but it will be for nought without the community supporting this. Thanks guys!

John, I commend you for your attitude, I knew at Devil's Hill that you were one of the best. I am at haste to point out, however, that CiA (and others) have already offered the very experiences that you all seem to be seeking! It's not that they're not out there in the first place, it's that a majority seem to just want to get their guns off, which makes those very organisers who do dare to be different not want to bother after having to cancel the very types of games that people want. Bit of a vicious circle really.

If you're up for the hard work of organising it all though, good luck to you. :good:

Pete, I hear you mate but what I was hoping to achieve here is a for everyone to take a bit of ownership with the issue. We've all heard the debates and concerns so, whoever responds to this as requested have the opportunity to actively improve our hobby. If not, then we all have enough rope to hang ourselves with. Kill or cure? Perhaps! I just want people to get behind a genre they all say they want. Ultimately, it's down to us all, I'm just a hopeful catalyst

I'll come along to games which look like they are going to offer me an immersive experience. Yes, to good things. Down with bad things!

and me. The best day I've had airsofting was at the Crete game. That was a good mix of both game types, we spent the morning marching to our setting off point, and the afternoon skirmishing...

Hey guys. Off the back of this discussion, Pete, Chomley and I have had a quick chat, got in our time machines and put together the perfect scenario for you all to come along to.

No excuses now! You've all registered your interest in a 24 hour immersive experience where the focus isn't endless firefights!

Here's the link to book: viewforum.php?f=234

See you all on August 1st!

For me Hut 9, Messina and Albany are all spot on, different but great ideas. I think what I would hope Johnny's initiative can achieve is a bit more notice and/or a clearer idea of when games are going to be so that I don't keep suffering this disappointment at missing them.

There is a glimmer of hope that I may be able to make Hut 9 now, I wish the same could be said for Messina.

 headshot, you never miss an opportunity! Guys, just a reminder...you're putting your name down as an interested party willing to support a niche game genre. only sign up if you are prepared to follow through. :good: the idea or expectation is a game will be developed at a date next year which will aim to meet your ww2 airsoft dreams :D

Thats good look forward to it :good: Pete, Headshot and CHTree do have a point though, both Messina & Hut 9 could use more support and are both deserving off it.

Hmm, OK a valiant attempt but now a bit disappointing. From creating a list of those with an interest in 'red squirrel' games (like we don't know who those people are!) it is now turning into yet another game proposal. Guys, there are games up and running here and now that need support, this year, never mind next year. The last thing we need is more organisers, we need more players!

That's the intent chomers. If everyone feels that the register is enough. Then hey, great! My only concern would be that we then have 2 or 3 red squirrel games (love that btw) competing for players. I'm happy to bow out and leave as is...... a list of players committed to attending and supporting these events! :good: job done. But guys, don't let this drop. Drive it on.
