Im considering a Marine look, but there's no games to support it. not because of 'Pacific' or 'COD WAW.' Its because of the 'Thin Red Line'...'Flags of our fathers'.

These films have been around a while and it hasn't inspired new recruits

Just finished my rangers kit (inspired by jackson from Spr) :happydance: .

Thin Red line is actually infantry. Most of the fighting done on Guadalcanal was the Infantry, not Marines! :)

Ive had my Marine gear since Flags of our fathers came out, I'd been wanting to get some off the back of Windtalkers.

Yes finding a suitable site would be a the biggest problem. Most seem to like building bunkers up rather than doing it properly and digging them down( My local site is heading the right way as the landowner is only too happy to help with his digger but it will take time as its not even a year old yet). Plus alot of bunkers tend to be sited in spots that make for good gaming rather than in places that would be more logical for a defensive position.
Then of course there is the problem of getting them overgrown enough to be completely hidden when every couple of weeks the open dayers will be piling in an out of them.

The problem with digging in is unless you know what you're doing (and even then...) and put in sumps & duckboards and site it properly and put in OHP then you just end up with a muddy bath rather than a bunker.

Well heres me ugly mug at last....
Commando. (I have a small pack and gas mask bag but time was not on my side when fitting out and taking pics)

Heer m36 uniform (yes I know I look half awake....lol)

Soviet m43 uniform (Still a work in progress, I need to get some shoulder boards and some of the buttons are missing)

Any advice appreciated guys and gals....

Well I only know brit, so only advice on that.

The only comment I really have is that the webbing looks like it could do with a bit of tightening up, just round the back really.

Otherwise good work! :)

Looking good mate, (nice meeting you at W&P btw)

Commando loadout is great (you might want to safety pin the 'ape tail' up or tack stitch it up as it gets annoying to skirmish)

Other kit looks good but i reckon you should choose rifle pouches or ppsh pouches rather than one of each?

Yes I see your point, tbh I just threw some pouches together for my pictures, but I do have another set of nagant pouches as well as a tokarev holster. All I need now is for agm to produce their ppsh and a couple of m43 bits and bobs that I mentioned, then I should be set.

Failing that, you could go down the "oh 'eck! What the hell happened to us last night?" route...

More pics to follow in the relevant threads...

OMG I really re-enact angry frumpy fishwife very well I'm just missing the :wife: damn just once I'd like a good picture of me  :giggle: wouldn't mind that wasn't long after I'd had my authentic 1940s bath a la enamel bread bin with jug of water

Note to self, take a ruddy paper bag re-enacting  I'm dreading Nick Hailings pictures as I just know he'll have sneakily got one of me, despite my Helga sonic vision when he's near by  cringe

Kits are looking good Panzerfaust. Looking particually 'slavic' in you Russian kit I must say. :good: You might want to get some paint on your waterbottle cup and dull down your belt buckle on your german kit though as it looks a bit shiny. is your mess tin blue btw or that just a trick of the light? Other than that you just need to get it mucky.
For the Russian stuff I'd recommend a russian water bottle and a gas mask bag for carry stuff in. With those and the appropiate insignia and weapon it should look the part. 8) Whats the backpack btw?

I think that the backpack is a m38 pattern mess pack, not to sure though. I did look for a soviet waterbottle at w&p, but I couldn't see any, :( oh and the mess tin is grey btw.

An M38 eh? Looks like its in good condition, what did you pay for it?
Wartime waterbottles can be tricky to find, I've only just found one myself. A postwar is passible enough but to make it look more authentic you can strip the paint off as the majority of wartime ones were bare metal. It may not be 100% correct but people are less likely to check if it looks right.

Hello, took my Heer Panzer Grenadier impression for a spin last week, using the Splinter smock for the first tme.

Man I forgot how much fun the MP40 is. The day was VERY hot though, luckily I brought a heap of water...-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --
