Yesterday, at our regular site, two of us turned out in our WWII loadouts and for the first half of the day we played "Hunt the German" over 55 "regular 'softers" vs myself and Pimms. Glad to report that both of us reported to the marshal at the main regen point at noon, both of us got kills, neither of us were spotted or fired upon. Major win for the Axis in my books :good:

Washed my wool trousers in order to shrink them - the waist had expanded to clown-esque proportions.

Aired the tent and other uniforms. Washed the mud off my jackboots. Tomorrow, polish and dubin. Cleaned some of the rust off my W-SS buckle, and then decided to spray it with RAL 6006, so you can't see the rust!

Polished my jackboots. Removed all the bling from my old jacket, in preparation to put it on the new one. Even taking it off took a long time. New tunic will have collar tabs, chest eagle, EKII and Eastern Front ribbons, Jäger arm badge, Obergefreiter chevrons... I think that's all. Old tunic will be badged up as Hohenstaufen - arm eagle, collar tabs, cuff title.

More ruddy sewing... my otherwise wonderful M42 trousers had the buttons for the braces only sewn onto the lining, as opposed to going right through to the wool. No surprise that one button got ripped off at The Pocket - hence, I had to remove them all and sew them right through. My Heer uniform is now ready for action! :)

Today i weathered my new luger...And gave it a walnut effect on the grips..First attempt at weathering i dont think it looks too bad. Pictures were taken before i lacquered the grips so they still look a bit painty.
