Lovely sunny day here in Sunny Bournemouth... 8)

What better excuse for putting more dubbin on the soles of my low boots? It melts in nicely. :D

I have nothing else to do until my HBTs arrive, and that's not likely to be for over a fortnight yet.

...blanco'd a nice pair of Brit P37 'one-peice' type "long" cross-straps/braces, to replace the miss-matched (one "long", one "medium" - I didn't make that pair up!) austerity 'three-piece' type cross-straps/braces for my main set of Brit webbing. The miss-matched pair will probably be going on my officer/back-up webbing, or being used to sling/shoulder small-packs and water-bottles.

recover from NYMR re-enactment event and catch up on the CiA forum posts.

Canvas tent is out and airing and I've done a few unpack jobs already

Next I'll be working on my jackboots - brushdown, NFO and then polish

So much for a 'chill out' day lol

Levisham Station is a beautiful location, the event was great and thankfully not a drop of rain :good:

Today I....
Click only if you are not easily offended or not of a sensitive disposition and are open minded (work safe friendly  )

Spoiler
Today I have been re-blanco'ing my 'A' set of webbing. At the weekend I dumped it all in the washing machine along with a box of dishwasher tablets that got gunged when the kitchen sink leaked. Well, I reckoned it was a very aggressive detergent and waste not want not. Got bollocking by Mrs C-W for 'ruining' the washing machine - meh, it looked sparkly clean when I emptied it! Where the webbing was exposed to bashing in the machine drum it was blond and bright, the hidden bits still had a little blanco on them so I made a solution of Vanish oxy-action and did a bit of nail brush scrubbing - came out quickly with little effort. Slung it all back in the machine for a rinse and spin cycle and left to dry.

So today I popped down to the bank and got my blocks of Blanco out of the safety deposit box. Broke quarter of a block into a pint of water and dissolved it. Using my stubby brush that I used in the '90s for stencil wall decorating :ghey: I used a painting and then scrubbing action with a fully loaded brush and covered the entire visible faces of the kit, stirring the solution briskly on each brush loading as the colour quickly drops to the bottom. All is now set to dry - I'll brush it down when it's dry and see if it needs a second 'even-up' application.

Last unused dry and crumbly block returned to bank vault! 8)

BTW, it was green and waxy Blanco I removed - no problem at all. Minty fresh webbing resulted :good:
