Today I had a very close encounter with a European brown bear, which was a bit of a surprise. Either my fieldcraft has improved massively or it was a singularly useless bear. Anyway, you don't really want a startled bear 8 feet away, so a very hasty retreat covered by a barrage of shouting and arm waving was in order.
Cheers

Crikey Sheffeild is getting wilder than normal ![]()
My AGM Sten was firing intermittently so broke it down to have a look. Not much to it so fixed in no time. Really exciting amounts of trigger and frame arcing appears to be par for the course so I just had to fit a mosfet - no arcing now.
Also designed some front sten sights for shapeways production. I'll see what they're like when they turn up and if they're okay they'll be available to order.

Linseed oiled (again) both my No 4 and my mates M1 Garand. I'm thinking they're maybe done now. Lovely finish on the wood.
Edit. Can you sand after oiling the wood? Noticed a few rough patches I did not see before on the No4? I heard the oil makes it more visible?
Why do you always carry that umbrella?
-Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.

I had over £300 worth of Heer uniform and kit in various baskets at 2am last night - I bottled it at the last minute, though.

Ordered Khaki WW1 Blanco in order to correctly colour my webbing for an Aussie impression. Oh how I am looking forward to reblancoing everything

It's strangely therapeutic. Did you get the SOF one?

Yup, couldn't find khaki blanco anywhere else. In fact couldn't find Khaki blanco, but I assume WW1 blanco is khaki.

Doesn't seem to go particularly far, that's the only problem I had with it. Pricey as well.

Yep ditto to that ![]()
I must have done it wrong then as I have 1/3 of a bottle of late war green left after originally doing all my webbing, pouches, small pack, large pack, blanket straps, 2 sets of L straps and Etool holder. It may be because I did it all with a toothbrush.

Clearly some sort of witchcraft. Expect a trip to the local ducking stool as soon as we've cleared the back log. ![]()

It's okay, I have already been switched to a penal unit (Australian Imperial Force).
