got very wet - it was gorgeous yesterday though
Finally got around to sewing 2/31st battalion insignia onto my Aussie Jacket. Sewed up the cover on my 2nd water bottle and broke the gas refill valve on my SMLE. That valve is just a PITA, so I might see if it's the same as on my pistol mags and swap it over.
Discovered that WW1 Khaki Blanco doesn't go as far as Late war green. 1 Bottle did Belt, Cross straps, Mk3 pouches, Bayonet Frog, Water bottle holder, L straps and small pack. The problem was that a few bits seem to have been dyed green at some point, so I had to be a lot heavier with the Khaki than when I did them in green. The final result does look stunning though, I really like the WW1 Khaki. I'm now debating the use of Brasso, as I'm planning to go to Lacock at War on Sunday to meet up with the Somerset Light Infantry, who I chat with on Facebook.
Heh, easier to do Brasso before blancoing as it is difficult (but not impossible) to avoid oily black marks where brasswork can't be separated from webbing.
Recoloured the waffenfabre on my spare Infanterie shoulderboards for my gebirgsjaegr impression

for reference packets of 'Crayola SuperTips' have a light green one in them that seems to be the perfect shade, go over the white a few times to get the green nice and even

Still can't find Steinnuß buttons anywhere, so I got some of these from Epic militaria:
and some warhammer paints and ended up with this mess:
At least I won't have to hide the ugly pebbeled metal buttons under snow goggles in southern Italy any more

That looks really good By the way how did the Budget bergschuse hold up to a day's skirmishing?
Not well, unsurprisingly. I think I have 4 'nails' left on both boots out of the 20 that I put on . Still, the important thing of course is that they looked good for the photo shoot
Might try to find another way of fixing them before Nordlicht, think I'll be slumming it with the infantrie for Copenhagen though.
