Well done Andy. An exciting new chapter perhaps?

Cheers

Took a proper milling bit to the sight on my K98. It's working, but slowly.

Recovering from my trip to London, started drawing up blueprints for some metal mag release catches for my K98 and a shotgun mag locating sleeve to fit in the magwell on my Garand

Experienced the core of being in the infantry: dug foxholes in the red clay of Africa...

Had a bit of a clearout of my kit cupboard, found a good few things to list in the for sale section. Also managed to buy a load of stuff online!

I finally got an answer from an Aussie re-enactor regarding which colours of Blanco are suitable for an Aussie impression. I may have to get a 2nd set of webbing so I can have 1 set blanco'd and leave the other plain. Apparently the Aussies didn't use blanco. I know that they had blanco and made their own but it was deemed a waste of water in the desert and a waste of time in the jungle (where it would just wash out).

Surely in the desert it should be scrubbed? In Commando comic Aussie desert webbing usually appeared to be scrubbed white:)

A spare set or three of webbing rarely goes amiss.

Going to my probably last student cruise, also probably my last student event before I graduate. Bittersweet.

Why do you always carry that umbrella?
-Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.

Put the transfers on my FJ helmet and weathered them in. Also spent a while sewing my cap insignia and chest eagle onto my uniform.

Went to the Imperial War Museum and marvelled at how spending £40m can result in a building and collection ten times worse than before the revamp. Awful.
