Took my pps K98 out for the first time today at POW, took a fair bit of fiddling to get it working correctly but thanks to a few of the regulars managed to get it going good. It hates propane for some reason no important parts were oiled or greased when I got it. Still working the new hop in though.

How did it handle our chilly weekend?

After I changed from propane to green gas it went surprisingly well, around three mag reloads per gas reload. I did spend a lot of time reloading though as I only have one may at the moment.
I turned the power up to 450, seemed to help the consistency of shots and to work the oil into the valves on the mag. Propane was only getting 4 shots per fill for some reason.
The cold didn't really affect it at all but this could be as it was really sunny at times so even though it was snowing and hailing I was on the verge of taking my fliegerbluse off and just wearing my jump smock.
Seems to be pretty accurate at the moment but as the hop needs bedding in it should even out, might swap the rubber for my spare maple leaf one.
The bolt is still stiff as hell when you're pushing it back in. Going to strip it and give it a good grease and tighten everything up properly this week.

Aye, I found the exact same thing with the show model in Airsoft World when I handled it. Lovely looking rifle though, and I'm glad you found it worked well. Should hopefully be getting one before the end of summer.

Today I stripped the bolt down and polished where the paint was wearing. Greased everything properly and reassembled. Seems to be cycling a lot smoother now. Need to test it with bbs tomorrow. I will say to anyone getting a pps the mag "aperture" where the bbs are pushed into the hop by the nozzle needs smoothed out.

Also oiled my stock as it comes stained and nothing else.

Got to the bottom of the bolt being stiff to load bbs. Took some wet and dry paper to the aperture of the mag. Loads smoother now.

Also getting my spare vsr ready to sell, I need more pps mags dammit!

Getting the bolt to run smoothly in my K98 meant it looked like a patchwork quilt of exposed metal sections so I stripped the rest of the paint and blued it. Tempted to do the rest of the metalwork now too.....

Finally fixed the VSR-98 shooting around corners. Three lumps of crud in the barrel
Didn't think I'd fired that many rounds through it  :O

I feel your pain.

Today I got my Zb26 working like a dream. Got rid of most of the crappy Chinese internals and replaced them with better quality stuff.

Regards,

Ralph

Hi chap, what did you use? Might do the same for my bren...

I replaced most stock parts to be honest apart from the gears. I did try using some 16:1 gears but the rate of fire was too high for what I wanted (and what a Zb26 should be) and the tappet plate couldn't return quick enough and so wasn't feeding.

Ultimately I installed these:
Shs high torque motor
Spring guide with bearing
Madbull Px piston
Modify piston head with bearings
8mm shs gear bushings with bearings
Guarder 50 degree hop bucking
Madbull 6.03mm 455mm barrel
Guarder sp100 spring

I will probably get some stronger 18:1 gears in there to deal with the high torque motor but the stock ones will be fine for a while. Also I've been firing 0.25g bb's as I'm finding the accuracy is a lot better.

Regards,

Ralph

Today I finally finished the external dimensioning for the FG42. Feels like it has been going on forever...

Sent it off for costing up from the laser cutters too. Gotta sleep now....-- attachment is not available --

Out of curiosity, what's Epic's BD like?

I quite like it actually, they do feel lighter and more comfortable around the waist. My other woollens are sof and epics' seem to be at least as good for about £20 cheaper.

I'll see how they are after I've had a game wearing them but so far they seem to be holding up.

Ralph

Spent far too much money on ww2 airsoft.

A mortar, a 'spare' mp40, a complete dak uniform, inc gaiters, pouches, a frame, water bottle etc, (all at a bargain price!)
And a springfield rifle. :happydance:
