It would seem I celebrated the new job too soon. It was a scam. I should be able to get the money back that I forked out for a CRB check. The things I would like to do to the scam artists....
I have a Job interview on Tuesday though, which fortunately I didn't cancel.
That's some absolutely foul luck mate, Best of luck with the interview.
I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

Bad luck was losing my job. This is the work of some seriously evil b*stards. I almost turned down a job interview on the basis of the job offer.

I am not alone in falling for this and many of them are in worse situations than I am. They are preying on people who cannot spare the money and who definitely do not need the knock to their confidence.
As for the job interview, I left it until the last minute to accept it and only 2 time slots had gone, so I am one of three. Its working for 1st bus analysing ticket sales data and I have been a Cinema manager for 19 years so I know ticket sales data and before that I spent a year doing medical statistics.
It's only part time covering maternity leave but it's a foot in the door and sounds fun to me.
Good luck with the job interview! Bad luck with the scam and I hope things start looking up for you.
Regards,
Ralph
Finally got around to sorting through the mountains of uniforms and kit that I've accumulated over the last 10 years, I've got a big heap that I've reluctantly decided to part with so look out for lots of stuff appearing in the for sale section in the next few days.
There will be British, German and Italian uniforms and equipment up grabs
Today I'm molding my maroon beret so it's ready for Loose Cannon. Also trying to figure out how I want to wear my toggle rope; shoulders, waist or hung off the belt...
Regards,
Ralph
Grange! Don't mould your beret!!!! Paras and Airborne soldiers didn't mould their's in the second world war, they were just stuck on your head and pulled right. Moulding berets came in about 30 odd years later..
For toggle rope - I wear mine attached to the e tool shaft. Will get photos if I can over the next few days.
Today i ordered the last few bits for my M35 refurb job, just waiting on a few bits to finish my LFFD impression

OK thanks, that's one less thing on my list of things to do!

Congratulations McVickers. Best wishes for the future.
In the meantime, today I started piling stuff up for Iskra and turned Tims old size 62 DAK hat into a size 58 which now fits me.

Thanks mate! I did actually contemplate asking but maybe an argument isn't the best way to start a marriage
I'm happy to settle for a honeymoon hiking in the highlands with my vintage equipment

You do that kinda thing too? Awesome!
I go hiking in the lakes in vintage breeches, long-socks, tweeds, etc...
Currently building up a collection of original, repro'd, and home-repro'ing kit myself of WW2 British mountain trained troops, who trained in Welsh highlands, English Lakes and Scottish highlands. Finally got myself a pair of 1944 dated "Breeches, Climbing" (like "Breeches, Mountain", are bloody hard to find a pair, let alone for sale!) in 34" waist to copy and sew myself a pair of. We should meet up for a weekend!

Absolutely! that would be fab, they just dont make it like they used too. Your kit sounds great, would love to see it. Ive gone for a Patrick Leigh Fermor route when he walked from holland to turkey. Have you read any of his books? they are incredible, inspiring for that sort of thing, the world as it was in '33. Framed rucksack, cream polo-neck, putties, long socks, shorts and the famed hobnailed boots! Not to mention the rope, lantern and enamel cup hanging off, always get odd looks from the silver haired Gelert club
Didn't have uni today so I decided to prepare my kit for Saturday. Been busy dividing up 2100 bb's into 14 bags of 150 bb's each. Need to get some grenades next.

Spent the evening rebuilding an MP40 gearbox with lots of nice upgrades.
