Travelled to London for the rest of the week. Gonna do me some shopping! Anyone recommend anywhere decent?
Silverman's is on Mile End Road, but they aren't cheap. For guns, Wolf Armouries are in Camden and some of the shops on Chalk Farm Road near Camden lock used to stock lots of WW2 looking kit. Don't know if they still do. If you are there on Saturday the market has several vintage stalls in the arches which often have WW2 uniform items. Back in the day Lawrence Corner in Euston was the place to go but it closed down.
Edit - The staff at Lawrence Corner have opened a new shop on Kentish Town Rd - http://www.squadronhq.com
Also edited for rubbish info.
Also in the camden area, In the main lock market, in one of the railway arches is a store called Soul-ja, I got some bargins there (british Armey woolens shirts etc) but it is a bit hit and miss.
Croydon, there is an army surplus store in Chruch Street, not much suitable for WW2 last time I was there, but they did have a selection of Cheap 1950's issue british greatcoats last I was in there, but 40 chest was the largest they had.
Ranger in Surbiton, nothing suitable or specific for the WW2 look that I can remeber.
I work in St Pancras/Camden, so if anyone wants me to pop in to any stores give me a shout.
I'm a hero with coward's legs.

was down at camden today, Soul-ja was shut, on a saturday? Guess business must be awesome for him if he can afford to be closed in the current financial climate.
the big surplus place in the stables centre had nothing, but lawrence' corner has moved to where fairy gothmother used to be and had some alright bits, decent ww2 brit greatcoats for £35.
Every other surplus store I visited was shut down.
Received and sorted my new M1 helmet in readiness for Kasserine Pass!
Fingers crossed it goes ahead as planned! Like me, if you've invested in kit specifically for a game, it's a pisser if it gets binned!
Is there a chance of it being canceled?! I hope not, it's the only game I'm looking at going to this year so far!

Aye
check out the kasserines pages.
Webby put up some important news; in short the local council have not approved the site for airsoft use.

Alex, Webby and the team are busy making contingency plans - I'm sure there will be something special to look forward to, even if it isn't at the originally planned venue. ![]()

Lot of that about, I travelled up to my local one (30 miles) the other day only to find it had closed in the last six months. There is one nearer but all it stocks is modern/new stuff and to be honest I long for days gone by when surplus meant surplus, and you could spend a good few hours rummaging through the shelves for an interesting bit of tat.
Oh and today I dug my airsoft kit out (which I haven`t used for at least a year)for an open day tomorrow, trousers are a bit tight round the belly. ![]()
was down at camden today
Hehe, not the only one. Me and Snyper were down in Camden today for a while, before wasting yet more cash in the Military section of Motorbooks down near Leicester Square.

French Lizard cam, very smart. Bloke had a slightly oriental look to him as well, could`ve been Dien Bien Phu all over again

Some last minute shopping in london before I head home. Just some modern bits and books.

Actually, thinking about it, it can't have been me. Early 50's, silver haired, don't possess white trainers, neither Denisons sport a para badge and I won't ever be seen dead at the cattle market car boot again. But if I did my choice of attire would be a Jack Pyke ripstop field jacket in English Oak pattern and white trainers - much more suitable for car boot jaunts (from what I have seen
).

Finished sewing on the Royal Engineers titles onto my BD for OP Freshman.
