I don't know whether everyone here is aware of the two different UKARA alternative schemes currently being developed. I know some of the WW2 airsofters will use a re-enactors defence rather than UKARA.
British Airsoft Club: Basically their system will have the player register their attendance at a site and it then has to be confirmed by the site and the retailer can then see the database entry.
Project Luther (now called the British Airsoft Skirmishers Association): A more slick system where each site has a barcode scanner which scans each players barcode to confirm attendance, updating the database instantly (or as soon as there is an internet connection).

Both of these schemes will eliminate the issue of having to attend the same site 3 times to get a defence. This may be beneficial for people who go from site to site all the time.

If anyone wants to know more, it's worth checking out this thread from AF-UK:

There are other threads on other forums, but I find AF-UK much more sensible than other forums, they are however biased towards Luther as some of the moderators are involved in that scheme.
