now, i thought none of the 101st airborne had the 48 star flags sewed onto the m42 jump jackets, well i pretty much know that. but what confuses me is that SoF's 101st m42 jacket with the spare pocket and eagle has the flag on it aswell. its probably them just getting it wrong ( as i have seen and found out myself manya'times, got to send back my second lot of stuff because its all wrong ) and a few guys with pictures on here with them on aswell. so were there a few guys with the flag on their arm?
i know they had them in holland and the 82nd wore them in normandy but i am a bit confused with this.

No they did'nt only the 82nd had them and in Holland they all wore removable ones, people just buy the completely wrong SOF 101st Jumpsuit because it has 101st on it, when they could save money buying the normal suit and a 101st patch.
I've never seen one on a 101st trooper in Normandy.
SoF stock what is available. If the chinese makers are sending the stuff out covered with extra pockets and a 48 star flag then thats what they will sell.
Remember SoF just sell gear, they [or any other dealer] are not responsible for doing your research for you. They sell what they sell, it's down to us to make sure what we buy is correct when we wear it. There are so many possible combinations of an M42 uniform it would be impossible to cover them all. We have to adapt what is available to suit what we want, just like the troopers did.
Extra pockets on M42 jump uniforms are pretty much a 506th thing, even then not all the guys did it. For ever jacket with extra pockets you will see 10 without. For other regt. in 101st and all 82nd you should really have the basic reinforced jacket and pants. Good job everyone does easy co 506th.

well to be fair their were only 3 ways they had it. with the spare pockets, without and the pathfinder 'camo' that i know of.
your right in saying that they sell what they sell but half of the time they describe what they sell wrong. but yeah as you said also you might aswell just buy the standard one and people buy the 101st one because it says 101st on it and they charge £30 for something that you can buy from them for £15. but cheers anyway lads
