Don't place any orders with Pyromad. It seems as if the company has gone tits-up. Both Boshman and I have unfilled orders going back a long time, calls and emails all go unanswered. Unfortunately I am past the 45 day limit to file a claim on PayPal. If you guys have outstanding orders I'd get your claims in now.
Chris Smith runs Pyromad, as well as Airsoft Auction, PA Defence and Alpha 55. None of the contact numbers at those sites work. His mobile number can be found here: [link]http://www.alpha55.co.uk/#[/link] Unsurprisingly he's choosing not to take calls .

Ah well, their pyro was unpredictable, unreliable and generally poor anyways...
Sorry to hear you've both not had orders fulfilled. Hope you both can get a resolve.

It's annoying but not the end of the world. Just got back from a work trip to Paris where my client lost his luggage and had his laptop and wallet nicked within 3 hours of arriving. Now THAT's serious SoH failure.
Who do you recommend? Pyromad sold these 4 channel radio detonators that tickled my bean, which is what my order was mostly for.
Who do you recommend?
My first experience of Pyromad was from the first order that Josh (Gunman) got in and tried out at his "Op' Shingle - Battle For Anzio" game, where the entire lot were duff. I seem to recall that a game recently (was it AGS's Il Giogo Pass, CiA's "Volturno Affiar"?) where a similar high proportion of Pyromad items failed to work either fully or at all. I think Josh had remained pleased with TLSFx items, and I've only ever bought maroons from them. TLSFx's general field items (grenades, flash-bangs, etc...) seem to have more 'effect' for your money than Pyromad too. I myself haven't had any experience with any other pyro' manufacturer to compare others on the market, except for grenades for Enola Gay, which were quite good.

Hmmm, I'll have a look into alternatives.

I managed to get my Paypal dispute in in time so did get a full refund.
All the pyro at il Giogo was TLSFx, no probs that I recall. The Pyro CiA had issues with we're the TLSFx Bang mortar rounds with which they had an entire bad batch, Gunman also had the same issues which is why everyone is now sticking to the mortar smoke rounds now as they are more reliable, and go further! The smoke also helps players to know they are in the kill zone and the smoke adds to the battlefeild atmosphere so they are better anyway IMO. Still we still had about 8 duds out of 60!
Pyromad's pyro was actually rebranded spectrum I believe. I only ever brought electric maroons from them and never had a duff!

Ah, was that what it was? My mistake. I knew Josh had switched to smokes only, but have never bothered to ask why .

Yes, their maroons and ball grenades seemed to be.

I've found out that the remote RF exploders they were selling were built by a company called "RFRemotech". Their trading name is "Electronic MadeinCHN", and their products can be viewed on their website: http://www.e-madeinchn.com (the product you were wanting to buy is called the "AlphaFire 1Q" - Pyromad were selling these one-channel units it sets of 1, 2 or 4, depending on how many 'channels' you wanted) The company also does proper multi-channel sets called "AlphaFire 4Q" (a single transmitter multi-set of the AlphaFire 1Q) "AlphaFire 12Q", and programmable ones called "SuperbFire C32QS" and "MagicFire B".
You can buy directly from the company in China (they PayPal too!) or you can contact their UK distributors:

also these for remote detonators, a lad at my local site uses them and is a nuisance, generally hiding them in corners of trenches and buildings whilst everyone else is at the safezone
It irks me that he's these sites are all still live and he's presumably still taking orders via them

Just to note, the Easypyro get boxes are good. We have a 20 channel one that works really well. We had a problem with the first one and it was replaced quickly and without issue.
The TLSFx pyro mortar bangs we had at Volturno were pretty unreliable. They blew apart on the first detonation which meant that more often than not the only bit to be chucked out of the tube was the second det with nothing else! I've spoken to TLSFx about it and they said they'd improved them so it shouldn't be an issue any more. The ones they sold previously were really good, so I do think it was just a bad batch.

Same issue we had with our previous lot. On the Sunday afer Sevastopol, Andy from UCAP tested a few of his BANG rounds and whilst most we ok they did not fly as true of as far as the smoke rounds. From a game perspective I also think the smoke rounds are better as players can clearly see where the round landed and if they were in the kill zone or not. Also the smoke add great atmosphere to the battle ground, made some of the pic's look epic! this one is my personal favorite:
