This is a follow on from the 'Where are the British' thread. Just to see what gear people have actually worn to events. As opposed to collecting stuff and wearing it in the garden
Might give some idea of the mix of uniforms people have that actually get used.
Cheers

Well I've put British and other allied but the latter was Polish at The Mace which was effectively British plus a couple of patches and some black felt...
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
Just Heer for me
Brit for Nijmegan (senny) and SS for Minsk (Bramley)
I've also been sporting brit kit at a dozen or so re-enactent shows across the UK this year.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Done British, US Inf and SS this year.
I've done Soviet, Heer and FJ twice and SS once in the past year. Jedburgh, as my only spell as Brit (sort of) just falls outside the 12 month period.
I've done Heer, SS and Soviet this year.
I have managed the polar opposites of FJ and Luftwaffe Field Div along with my Sov stuff (which has also been to some wargaming events, as have various odd bits of German kit).
Cheers

Spent most of the last 12 month's dressy-up time as Brit - BD, KD, SD, denims and barathea. 2 outings as FJ, one as Heer and one as Waffen SS tropical
OK, well that was all afternoon on one massive spreadsheet of the last 2 years games (since, and including, Loop) (excluding the Gunman Games, and the first one at Ford).
Before I begin
1. use of the words 'top' and 'bottom' does not imply a moral judgement
2. The numbers are slightly slewed by 'Jedburgh' - for which the axis and allied 'sides' became very mingled, and games such as 'Freshman', that had civilian scientists.
3. 'British' includes Polish
OK, some numbers -
In the last two years 67% of games have used/allowed British Kit, 25% for both Soviet and US.
In these games there are 34 players who have attended more than one game as an allied player in this time.
Of the top ten players who booked in the most for the allied side (excluding organisers) all of them play on all three major allied sides.
The top ten players have attended and average of 57% of Soviet games available to them, 39% British games available to them, and 70% US games available.
When looking at the top 20 players this number changes to 40% Soviet, 32% British and 45% US.
Edit* All statistics do not count organisers as attendees.
Blimey Craig, you must have even less going on at work than I do

Still loads more to do on it yet. Plus I would like to go back another 2 years
Heh, I'd include organisers though, for they are every bit players - not to include them would skew figures as they dress up too.

Do it campadre. And name the top 10 - actually do the top 11 so they can make up a cricket XI. Then call it the Crack-It XI and have badges made up
😯

I have figures that do include them in everything - and they are included in these when they are at games they are not organising. But I think only counting 'payed and playing' people gives more of a representation of a player base.

Ha ha, lies, damn lies and statistics!
Excellent work Craig.
How many games are we talking about? How many of the top ten, or twenty for that matter, also do Axis? How many of the top ten/twenty have been playing WW2 airsoft for the whole two years? How many of the top twenty do all three sides? How many games offered more than one allied side?
Personally speaking since my first game in April this year I think I've managed to attended 100% of the British games available excepting Anarchy which didn't seem to invite Brits but it appeared they weren't turned away. I can't make Volturno unfortunately but will be at Anzio and missed the Gunman game in March so that will mean that looking at the calendar year for 2011 (as I joined the list in January) I will have had a 63%, 67%, 71% or 80% attendance depending on which games are included.

LOL, I was wondering when that would be asked .
The top eleven Allied 'attendees', as a percentage, excluding organisers, for the last two years are, in order -
Horus
Pete 59
Wladek
Yith
Lipton
Mr Slipyfist
Barrie (or Anne)
Anne (or Barrie)
CHThree
OligoScenic
Universal Gunner
Tomorrow I will delve back another two years - as it is rather fun.

You made the top XI, so quit ya whinning
seriously, those are all good questions, and all of them are on my hit-list of variables.
Mostly my US Airborne kit and occasionally my Volkssturm gear. I would like to do Russian and Brit at some point in the future but the impressions I've got are quite adaptable (Us web kit and weapons can be used for infantry, rangers, etc and the Volks gear just needs a little extra to be Heer/ss) so the costs of getting new uniform and boots kind of makes it less of a priority.
I'd be willing to give pretty much any impression a go providing it wasn't going to be a substantial outlay for one game.

Ooh, ooh, I just scraped in and coincidentally in exactly the place I always seem to end up batting.
No, don't go back another two years or I'll be back carrying the drinks and blancoing the pads again
To be fair though I do think organisers should be included.
