My bro took a shot to the face at the weekend. Hit his Wiley SGs where the arm meets the frame. Smashed them! :o :o :o
I use the same and was told that they could take a shotgun hit at ten paces...

Anyone else had similar problems?

Anyone want to buy a pair of second hand Wileys?

Same problem with most eye protection, after all its the lenses that are rated for impact protection, not the frames. :?

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I've had a pair of Guarders shot to bits too!

As Kermit says, the frames have different protection ratings - have a search on Google and you will find what all the numbers mean, it's a complex system!

Thing is, were the eyes protected - yes, job done.

My Oakleys got shot on the frame, and they were carbon fibre.... the lens was sigh tight inside the frame that the crack in the frame cracked the lens!

THat was from a sniper rifle. at about 50 feet

I've done this myself to Wiley SG's. They're crap. The frames are awful! I've warned several people off them.

Get some goggles that are polycarbonate/metal all over.

Personally I use Bolle Siliums, they're very cheap on ebay. Or a low profile mesh mask.

Generous fellow that I am, I've given the Vipers to my brother (he of the smashed Wileys) and ordered a pair of Siliums for myself. Due to conkage, the Vipers are not that comfy so I'll see if the Siliums stay fog-free any longer than the SGs.

BTW the new FogTech stuff isn't worth the money A/Soft Jockland et al are charging for it. My SGs still fogged up and just as quickly if I'd used the cheapo stuff I got on-site a while ago.

How does it apear on the tin Guzzi?

Let me get this right, we need to ask for EN166-B rated Glasses and EN166-B Rated Frames?

Apparently I'm getting ready for a check up with the opticions(see that as he want money for crhristmas) so I'll order some at the same time.

Thanks
