Hold your horses. It's not the airfield, it's a single control tower.

Plus 9.5 acres of land and disused outbuildings.

I'd struggle to afford an Airfix one at the moment...

Looks like the airfield is split in two by the A3124. The area in question is obviously just a small corner of the airfield. It could have potential as an airsoft site and there are a lot of holiday chalets nearby so possibly alternatives to camping.

Hi All,
Been away for a couple of years, but i do run 3 Airsoft sites

whilst the cost dosent seem much, WHOEVER buys that land and tower, will inherit a lot of problems
The main one being buisness rates.
As soon as the local council get wind its got ANY kind of buisness on it they will be round for their pound of flesh.

A building i used to run in mancester was derelict, 200,000 sq feet. buisness rates of £80,000 a year, im not shitting (roof was still on so rates were payable)
The only way to avoid rates is to operate for LESS than 26 days a year and have NO utilities connected.

if your going to lay out £50,000 for that site, you need to run every day of the week to make it pay, then you get dry bummed for rates.

This is why 99% of airsoft sites are rented , and run for less than 26 days a year and have no permanet buildings. (some people get lucky and dodge the rates, but if the councils find out and catch you at it, you will get a backdated bill, and they will happily take your home to pay it)

Its not as easy as just buying land, and running a site guys and gals

And it's right there in the first paragraph.
+1 for reading whatever I want to read - Thanks, I'd love a pint. :happyclap:

For that price I would take a look at it if it was up here.
As Porta says more to it than you think with business rates.

Has to be under 26 days paying events per year.
Any other days are just mates round and the are welcome to stick money in the restoration fund box
