So many for me but two stand out from our very first ever game 'clash of eagles' in 2006 (or was it 07)

One was advancing towards the german lines and looking to my left and right, and despite it being 'free for all' only seeing US rangers all around me and thinking 'god, this is *just* like being in 'saving private ryan' but 'live' :)

Later on in the same event Yith and I were doing badly in a firefight and both ended up being wounded and cut off.... a guy in ss gear ran through a hail of fire towards us, skidded along the ground captured us and said in the best warfilm accent ever 'for yo tommy ze var is over!'... classic.

and from the last event the way the german platoons worked perfectly in unison firing and manouvreing, moving to map point to point and pulled off a very tricky company sized left flank/denied right battle.

Awesome.

Like i say there have been *so* many but those came to mind quicly as being my first and last best memories.

Other memorable games include 'Wotan', Aerial, 'cassino and st lo.

Gunman 'secret missions' Operation vengance. All of it as being my first WW2 i was just so taken aback by the kit, the game play and the big V2 rocket prop. :happyswing:
Candelston Operation Shingle, fighting off the suicide attack on the little fort thing with only a handfull of us in it. :good:
ASG Sevastapol game. The fight through the concrete pipe yard was just about the best thing in a very good days airsofting, follow by the final battle in the building with just my Kar98. :giggle:
The last Gunman Game 'Gothic line' when a mixed bag of germans hit the flank of a large American force, the fire and manouvering was great to be part of. :happydance:

Armoury: AGM MP40, AGM Sten MkII, K98K/vsr and Maruzen P38.

from last year at patton stalled, two of us got cut off in a building during a retreat and faced down the allied attack for some time with only bolt action rifles, it took desperate measures to winkle us out.for the life of me i can't remember the other german players name but i'm sure he wil remember as well, i think it was a grenade that did for us in the end.
sevastopol while dead and walking back to re-gen i turned around and just stood transfixed by the panorama , mortar's firing ,smoke drifting and well organized units in very good fieldgrey kit all moving purposely up the hill. 8)
at ill goegio pass just looking round to see mcvickers looking at a signpost in perfect looking kit ,was a perfect photo and so atmospheric.
at patton stalled i tossed a grenade to a comrade so he could throw it in a window above him to take out a well dug in american ,he lobbed the grenade up and it missed the window, bounced off the wall and then bounced off a tree and around the side of the building before going off and killing an enemy player around the corner that we didn't even know was there
my fist gunman game operation red cap and josh got the drop on me with his sten,my rifle having an engagement distance ,i had no time to draw a pistol but it was so cold (-9c) that josh's sten was over hopped and just lifted the bb's over me ,was very revealed as it was close but took the hit anyway.
just too many.

my first game at Devils Hill, getting cut off when advancing up the hill and spending a good hour panther crawling through mud, puddles (if you were there you will know what i mean) and ferns to close in on a german 'o' group, pulling out the grenade and being primed to blow the lot to kingdom come only to find the fuse was soaked through and unuseable then pulling back all without Jerry knowing I was ever there! The rain, mist, silhouetted enemy moving about the dense tree line made it the most immersive experience I have had.

Watching 20 field grey whermacht soldiers crest the hill through deployed smoke mortar rounds at the sand pit (sevestapol) whilst i lay in my shell scrape certainly got the hairs on the back of my neck going too. Needless to say, i died a bloody and violent death.

Also storming the trench system at Eversley in the drop game last year. smoke deployed and belowing across the battlefield, maroon berets swarming up the hill and in the hail of bb's, fallen troopers and grenades we over came! Josh said it was one of the most visually impressive sights he'd seen at an event. AWESOME :happydance:

I second Johnny's at The Drop, being part of that line of Red Berets coming down the hill into the Valley felt so proud!

Another was Gothic Line when Able Platoon took a group of Germans from behind and then posed to take photo's of their kills.

Jedburgh or Churchill's for me.

Jedburgh for the immersive nature and constantly being afraid of being captured.

Churchill's for getting through it!

Both were on the over 1000 acre Glyn Ceiriog site which is absolutely amazing.

Husky for me. I got cut off and ended up hiding in the long grass for what seemed like hours, then keeping stock still as a full squad of yanks stopped 5 foot away from me, waiting for the moment I was going to get caught. After I twigged they hadn't a clue I was there, I opened up with my MP40, getting 3 and ran out of ammo. I got lit up like a candle. Excellent :good:

Devils Hill on Sunday morning, soaking wet and freezing cold in the pouring rain thinking 'what the hell am I doing this for' and then doing it anyway.

Hauptmann Horn, slogging up the slopes and over all those bloody barbed wire fences for three hours only to die in a pointless firefight, but then we found Hess. Hooray!

Il Gigio Pass in the afternoon when we saw the British filing up the valley across from our position (Anton?) and it looked just like dozens of photos of the Italian campaign. A real 'being there' moment.

Joshs 'Anzio' game, I was just blown away by the spectacle of scores of players, felt like being being in a real battle.

Discovering I wasn't a bad shot with a boltie at Eagles.

But mainly, sitting around the camp fire in the evening at numerous events just having a good chinwag. A drinking the odd beer :)

Cheers

as a paticipant - Jedburgh and the final discovery of the radio tower and then the last 3hrs. A story for the fire that one so feel free to ask. Agree with Headshot, one of the most atmospheric sites ive ever been to, it was like walking onto a set of a film.

As an observer,
Watching a PAK40 clear out a biulding at Carentan and 20 101st come flying out the back
The british advance at Hill112 and the Nerbal rockets flying over the heads.

Jedburgh. Our three-man team had spent literally 3 hours crossing the site, avoiding being seen by the enemy, then lying up waiting for a co-ordinated attack... that never came! So, we moved in on the Jerry base, where I shot Guy, Kermit and Chommers in quick succesion. And Lardy too!! :D Only he was on my side...

1) The first event at sennybridge, standing a the top of the hill with the field artillery pummeling the town and all the geman players throwing themselves arround in the town. Was my first event and that set the bar for what ww2 airsoft is all about.

2) Border Clash, leading the suicide charge into a hail of enemy fire!

only two but that leaves more room for additions to the top ten all time :happyswing:

There have been so many, where do I start?

First up My very first game Minsk, amazed at how welcoming everyone was to a newbie and from Gadges initial breifing to moving off in skirmish line through the woods as our section commander Bosh cajoled us raw recruits " dont bunch up, one grenade will kill you all!" I knew this hobby had so much more to offer than open day gaming :good:

The sheer spectacle of Sevastopal, no need to say more.

Holding the first bunker at Corridor with my MG34, as my comrades died around me I continued to fire, last man standing having fired 1500 rounds from the MG I discharged the last shots from my Luger before retreating. As I looked back I saw the allies storming the bunker with grenades thinking I was still in there

Josh's Anzio and the drop games for the feeling of being part of a large battle.

Wladeks Eagles game, bolties are so much fun.

Apologies to any game organisers not mentioned, as I say there have been so many :happyswing:

I have very fond moments but the 2 that I always look back and reflect on was on my first event I went too.

The opening Barrage and charge of the russians at anarachy, was just amazing to watch. (I did feel sorry for the poor old ruskies)

And later on that day I was in a 2 man foot patrol walking past the knocked out US tank. I heard movement and tried to whisper to my other squad mate. How ever he had ear defenders in and carried on walking. 20 seconds he had gone into the darkness of the tunnels. It left me and the mysterious person insdie the tank alone. I took off as much kit as i could quietly and pulled out my 1911. I then saw a peaked russian cap come to the window of the tank and saw it was the russian commisar (Porta!) I then began to crawl towards the tank when he came to the window again. I was laying directly infront of the tank and was like "If he starts this up and moves forward I am in trouble!" He was peering left and right and with the total darkness of the area even though I was only a few ft away from the tank I remained undetected. Porta then swang the turret around 180 degress and I thought this was my chance. I got up and jumped on top of the tank peering in with my pistol when Porta was ready and fired 3 shots from a blank firer while cursing in Russian tongue. I fell flying back off the tank and landed on my back. With a screech of "medic". (almost literally shit myself!)

But at all events I have been too there was always something good.

At the gothic line for the example the 3 veichle convoy was great. Especially all jumping out the back of the GMC when we were under fire.

Stu

How could forget, trying to light the fire in a dripping, freezing forest at Fist of Dust(?) while Wladeck played his accordion.
Cowering under the German barrage at the same game. It was really scary!

Cheers

It certainly was. it was even worse one year later when I tried to play the same song again. Turns out I can't remember a tune on an instrument I do not play for a whole year without practising :giggle: .
