Attention of Stabs Kompanie Hauptquartier, Luftlande Pionier-Bataillon 22
The very Germanic sounding Grenadier Seanebabes begs to report for duty with 1st Kompanie Grenadier-Regiment 16 in the Crimea Peninsular. Happy to serve as a rifleman with either Zweite or Dritte Grenadier Gruppe.

Storm? Storm??
Can't we stroll?
Or sneak?
I might manage a stride but I think I'm past storming, unless it involves cider.

Get the pioneers to lay a trail of vodka shots in the direction of the enemy.
Sorted!
You only need 2 or 3. I can't drink as much as I used to.

Can anyone advise on the small arm combination for a mortar crew? Would it be a K98 (with 3 mag pouches) with a P38 as a side arm? Or an MP40? Or any possible combination of the above!? Be good to get things right.

I beleive that at the start of the war all 3 crewmembers of a light mortar would be armed with a Kar 98. By 1941 the TOE shows the NCO with a Kar 98 and the other crewmembers with pistols only, however I have seen pics of mortar crew with an MP40 so I think any combination would be fine.

Not sure what weapon to use. I'm bringing Mp40, Ppsh and Tanaka K98. Not sure the Tanaka will like February but would like to use it.

im not too sure what weapons to bring either. i know im using my mp40 as im an nco for this game but ive got a home made maxim machine gun available too, weighs a fair bit as its full metal real steel and really need 2 men to move it as its got a small tripod with it. not really the ideal assault weapon but it might come in handy to break up any counter attack.

If you are able to bring the Maxim, Kamerad, that would be great. We need maximum covering fire whilst the Pioniere are trying to clear the way. :good:

i'd just love a maxim but its just so big ive nowhere to keep one ,definatly bring it im sure somebody will help with it,wasnt it about a 4 man crew for one or was it a 6 man crew?the german version in ww1 was even made as a one man portable weapon for stormiong trenches but it looks like a cartoon gun  called the mg08/15 it was still 18 kilo's  (guess what dadio got for christmas)

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712

yeah ive seen the mg08, trouble is this sort of weapon is too big for airsoft really. somebody could turn up with a nicely tuned sten gun and have pretty much the same fire power as my maxim, plus the sten is easier to pop out from behind cover with then open up, not possible at all with a more static machine gun, maxim variant or mg08 variant! i have at least built a bullet proof shield to protect the operator otherwise there'd be no hiding whilst firing it. its quick to set up and any direct attempt on storming its position would be suicide so i'll bring it along. it takes 2-3 man team to use it. one man to carry the gun ( not too heavey), 2nd man to carry the tripod and shield in the backpack (very light) and 3rd man really just to cover the 2 man crew. its handy to have a man either side of the gun covering the flank as from past experience, the enemy has to try to go around it rather than being cut to pieces by it.
