I saw that Martin's quarry game is set for 12noon start on Saturday and runs through to 8pm. Players can arrive and camp Friday night or on Saturday morning, have a social Saturday evening, camp over and leave site when they want on Sunday.
It struck me that this is a very civilised solution and more to the point it would be very practical for the Hess scenario.
Points in it's favour:
Players don't need to break their necks getting to the game, nor leaving the game either.
Avoids the inertia of re-starting a game on Sunday morning.
Avoids the problem of how to re-start a rolling scenario like Holt.
Should mean a more leisurely game pace - no panic to get everything in.
It avoided the drunken drop-outs on Sunday morning.
Sunset on 2nd April is roughly 7.30pm so it will give a nice dimension of a bit of play at dusk when all sorts of sneaky shit can go on, and possibly be climactic if we get it right.
Anyhoo, I ran it past Guy this morning and his initial reaction was favourable. What thinks the rest of you?
It sounds like a good idea to me, for this game. We had quite a few drop outs on day 2 of Devil's Hill, so, it makes sense to try to prevent that happening for Holt.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Yeah, good idea. It does mean people will have to set-up before game on though, or pitch their tent in the dark.
Yes totally want to do it this way . Will keep em all on the go for 8 hours, and restarting the game on Sunday will be hard within the confines of the plot .
and we can have a social Saturday as well .
