Don't worry Jay, we'll be doing the same when we visit the Stalingrad site.

That's weird. Hire van dropped off and car picked up with a failed MOT. And a passed MOT. It failed on the horn not working - and the horn still isn't working, but he gave me a cert anyway. ![]()
Heh, the horn has it's own fuse - I've checked that and it is OK. But on that block of wiring in the fuse box also sits a fuse for the high level brake light and a fuse for the headlamp washers. All of whose fuses are OK but don't work. Looks like a dodgy connector block but I can't work out how to unclip it. I might get Pete to have a quick look tomorrow!
Anywhoo, all set for tomorrow - and legal. I think!

Sounds like standard Citroen electrics to me...

Good to see you all again , sorry for the incessant coughing hawking and wheezing . I'm actually doing very well for a 93 year old . ..
I'll confirm the detail by email to Ed and Jon this week and see if we can get the site rate dropped to a day rate of £25 .
I'll also draft up V1 of the event plan this week , and if David could provide a map of sorts that would be great
For info Jump smocks are about £100 , and a side cap rather than a visor cap would add another £35 for info .
For the Ceri event I'm watching the star as I type and will do some research to come up with a storyline by the end of this week . I'll try to knock out the draft game plan within 14 days as I already have a few ideas. I'm considering doing Russian for this as it would allow me to use the jeep and my new toy *
Jay , if you're struggling to find time with Tim then let me know and I'll get in touch with him direct. Next weekend is busy for me with Daughter's 18th , however the other weekends in Jan are free at the mo and quite happy ot bob and sort this out.
Right off to snuffle and read subtitles whilst clutching my new PPSh* cheers Jay !!!
Super.
I've revised all the public-facing posts with timings, facilities and site location/satnav guff.
Here is the google map with boundaries/usable area marked: Google map: Site map
Note: we have quite a lot of land we can use up the lane which probably the Brits might like to use progressively through the day - this will avoid any natural congregation from around the farmhouse/carpaprk/campsite. That is to say, British HQ at the farm is a natural place to start but is not where we need to be when the game is kicking off, Hess is in custody, and Germans are lurking.

Totally agree , I'd like to keep away from the farmhouse as not to piss them off, and also it's very modern esp with all the cars parked nearby .
The tricks going to be to keep both sides moving progressively but not excessively around the site to allow capture and recapture, and make use of all the terrain .
Yes, good to see you all again. Plenty of variety at the site too.
Good jump smocks are available at Spearhead http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WW2-German-Fallsc ... 5d286bb7a9, or here, in the UK, http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.ph ... jump-smock

I have a pair of walking boots left in the back of my car - not Pete's, suspect Stephen's.

Bollocks! They're mine. I'll have to find a way to get them off you.

Would it be worth double-checking with the site owner that we are 1) still expected and 2) he has spoken to his neighbours on both sides about using their land?
I had a horrible vision of turning up and finding we only had his strip of land to use!
(Also, if I remember rightly, the land owner wasn't going to be there on Friday when we arrive as he is visiting his son and won't be back until Saturday evening - in which case we will have no one to liase with if we are found on neighbour's land and no one knows what is going on because they haven't been told/asked.
He also said he was going to inform the local police what is going on - has he?

Guy's got the site contacts hasn't he?
Happy to check the above if someone can forward the site contact.

Yes, Guy has it all and has already been in touch to liaise but that was a good while ago. Even Ed won't be at the game so we are very much on our own and it would be very comforting to know absolutely that we are expected and we have the land agreed from the horses mouth. That chap isn't Ed's mate, it was his erstwhile partner's, so I'm not sure of the level of dialogue between the two.

I'll call him this arvo.

Left the chap a message.

John left me a message. All's fine, the woodland and other side of the stream are sorted. I just need to call back to confirm arrival time on Friday. IIRC he said he'd be around on the Friday but not the Saturday. Will speak to him tmrw.

Phew, that put my mind at rest - arrangements for a site have been less than conventional this time!

Thanks for sorting that HS, was he still insisting on providing us with dinghies ?
Ed's lack of anything is outstanding , we've booked to use his sites three times now and yet I doubt we'll see him in July either .
