Hi All,

I'm just after a little advise in regards to bread bag colour,

I'm looking to replace a cheaper version which i got to get started with my German kit late last year.

my kit is standard Heer (European), i have seen there are multiple colours available (tan, green, grey etc.).

Any help welcome.

Regards

John

They seem to come in a real range of colours, all of which I think are fine. Mine is from Richard Underwood http://www.richardaunderwood.com/bread-bag-repro/

This is a good reference http://www.mp44.nl/equipment/breadbag.htm and shows an example of the range of colours.

Thanks for the help guys, some good links,

It would appear then that throughout the war the German military used a mixture of colours.

Thanks again for the help

Yes, a grey or green one with leather fittings will do for most of the war. It is a good idea to dubbin the leather fittings like crazy, as the straps can split otherwise.

as Martin says ,treat the leather with some dubbin as its always dry as a bone , a bit of staining of the fabric around just adds to weathering so yo needn't be overly careful with the dubbin.

You can't go wrong with Underwood's - and at £12, it's a bargain.

Yeah it did seem a good option, so I've just bought one from there today, I head of them on the grapevine, I take it they are pretty reputable as a store!? They have an entrenching tool on there I may well consider getting also

Ditto. A fair bit of my stuff is from RAU (including my e-tool).

Cheers
Martin
