I saw these on eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WWII-German-E ... 1c197bc5e9

I am going to use them for kit at Gunman's Anzio event, I have some kit myself (borrowed) but my dad needs some. We were looking at these as they seem quite cheap and good value, however we wanted to know a few things (bear in mind the kit will probably be sold on after the event):

Are they good repro's?
Is the price right? (any other uniforms of equal price please link)
What do the shoulder boards denote? (i.e what rank)- I think they might be engineer?

Thanks in advance guys!

Hiki stuff is usually ok. Just be aware, you'll be lucky to get them in time for the game if you order now!

This is the SS cut of tunic and pants, you know that?
The shoulder boards are infantry/grenadier and can be used up to the rank of corporal/rottenfuhrer.
They are reasonable copies, dont expect the highest quality of cut and construction at that price. You will lose buttons, there will be lose threads.

Hiki is excellent value for the money. Bear in mind that it won't come with any insignia. The shoulder boards on the pic are almost certainly just for show. You'd need boards, collar tabs and a shoulder eagle as well as a shirt to wear under the tunic

As Poacher has pointed out its an SS tunic, The 16th RFSS fought on the Italian front. :good:

(The Sahariana tunic is modelled on a Italian style tunic.)

Yes, 'elite' is HIKIs (and other ebayers) euphamism for SS.

HIKI stuff is fine though, the last lot I ordered took two weeks to arrive. Like all repros, I would go over all the buttons and sew them all on again.

Epic do cheapo BeVo insignia, and you just need a tan shirt to go underneath.

Cheers

As already said HIKKI gear is great for the price. I have 2 German HBT sets from him which look good and are a must for the summer. He will mix and match sizes if you ask him and send as a gift so you don't get stung for import tax :good:

I find his stuff to be well made, but sizing can be hit and miss. I found his DAK tunic too short in the body for me. Oddly his HBT tunic ordered at the same time was spot on. Trousers were fine but the shirt was tight. Decent enough and considering he is on the other side of the world the kit turned up pretty quickly too.
