My question is which uniforms officers wore in combat and if they used ordinary soldier's uniforms and which parts of field gear kit they used. Which boots they used in combat - officer's boots, jackboots or low boots? Any good deals on boots at the moment? I am not talking about specialist troops but regular infanterie and grenadier. More to the point we are having first ww2 airsoft event in Croatia and we need to mobilise many troops fast. So minimal equipment needed for this first event. We'll get our bling for next year's event. Event is based on Mission Chicago (D Day). Any advice is appreciated.
My armory: MG42, MP40, StG44, G43, M38A, P08, P38, Mauser C96, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Colt 1911, Webley Mark VI, Sten Mark II.
Depends how Hollywood you want to go, full officers jacket, riding trousers, riding boots etc.
Junior officers (such as you might actually find in combat) often wore standard uniforms with just rank insignia to distinguish them. For Airsoft, you may want your officers in caps so they stand out rather than helmets (even if the latter are more practical under shell fire).
As a minimum for an airsoft 'officer' look I'd say trousers, jackboots (low boots would be fine too), jacket with rank badges, crusher cap and an officers belt with a map case and a pistol holster. The map case can carry a surprising amount of stuff. Out of sheer practicality a bread bag and a water is also a good idea.

I don't want officers from Hollywood movies but as they were in real combat. So it was not unheard for officers to wear M43 keilhosen for instance? I was thinking maybe M36 officer's tunic with M43 keilhosen and low boots. Wearing cap is a good idea for officers. My main point is that many players won't be able to purchase everything until our Event so we need to minimalistic but realistic. For the next event different rules will probably be in place.

Plenty of pictures show officers wearing EM uniforms - plus they are cheaper and will get more use.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Like Andy says, you are probably best just buying a standard EM uniform with a few officer accessories - cap, rank boards, belt etc. I wouldn't bother with an officers jacket, you'll get far more use from a normal uniform.
The later war jackets are pretty ugly and crude so I'd go with something a bit more fancy M36 or M40, it'll last the whole war too.

Thx for the replies, I'll do just that. I wasn't sure if officers can use low boots.
