Richard and co were at the Stoneleigh fair this weekend, suspect he has been busy getting that packed up then set up. I'd try and ring him on Monday and get a delivery date.

As a last ditch effort he lives reasonably close to me and Its on the route to the event.
If he hasnt sent them tell him to hang on to them and I'll pop round to pick them up.

It's the best way to do it. Richard is old-skool when it comes to this sort of stuff.

He generally seems to post on a Wednesday or Thursday, but as others have said , he was probably busy organising for Stoneleigh.

When he does send, you will have them the following day. Just give him a call...he is one of the nicest guys to speak to

spoke to him today and he reasured me they would arive before the weekend, i think i must have caught him after a long day as he sounded a little harassed (not by me as i was the life and soul of reasonable) after a day of sorting gear from the show.
so with a little luck they will arive in time for me to feed them and polish them ,oh just thought does anybody know what type of sole they have,im asumeing leather i know they have no hob-nails but ive got plenty ,even a coblers anvile but i've seen some with a rubber sole whitch would be a shame but meh no biggy.

What type of boots did you order?

If the Bundy jack boots, they have a thin rubber sole over leather. Strip the rubber sole, add a leather one and hammer in the nails. My local cobbler did the whole thing ( me supplying nails) for £30.... Just a shame he blackened the new leather sole :(

well i doubt i'll have time to re-sole them before the game so a little slippage may have to be acsepted as the price of style.

You should be fine on anything other than ice, wet grass or slimy mud. I doubt we will have the first two and nails are no good in the last anyway

Dadio, why are you even worrying? I've seen you walk over ice (thick sheet ice puddles in quite a few places!) in hobnailed ammo boots without slipping over once*! You've got the skills when it comes to vintage footwear....

I've worn Bundeswehr boots like those a couple of times to games (as well as for doing the garden) and the thin rubber bit grips quite well, even on semi frozen mud. I've just had mine resoled though, so I'll see how the hobnails do.

Cheers
