TBH, for the game we've got planned support weapons on the Allied side could be quite cumbersome anyway.

Cheers HS. It's just annoying as I was looking forward to using it. So between Jimbob and myself we've got an MP40, Kar98,1911 pistol and AK47 wood stock (I know it's within the CiA rules but still yukky considering how much trouble we've gone to with uniforms)

The AK can, however, fire tracer bbs. Umm...will tracers be allowed in the evening?

Certainly - tracer would be awesome! The evening game will be a single shot game (which went down very well at Bryan) so you might want to fill a mag with pure tracer shot rather than mix as you would normally.

I never mix. In fact after my breakfast bottle of scotch I can barely even work the loader :D

The TM AK tracer magazine doesn't work as nicely in single shot but I'll see how it goes.

I generally like to have a cup of tea and a nice sit-down around eleven-ish. Will there be time allocated for that?

I'll be bringing my bren which I have now switched back to mid-caps and have three mags running fine.

Not sure if Pete59's is working.

Peppered has a look-alike.

Hi, I'll have a cuppa!

I'll have an M249 Bren-a-like, will need an ammo carrier and gun section commander so who wants to do that?
Ok back to tactics. What I was trying to elicit is that the gun and small crew need to be commanded and organised to allow the mobile rifle sections to manoevre. In other words, the gun shouldn't move much as it should be positioned and firing. The rifle section should not be approaching under fire until the last tactical bound (in modern parlance) if this is done well.

Who are the commanders etc and can they please let me lie down a bit and fire as I am too old to be carrying a heavy gun around all day ;)

@ Peppered
We have around 130 gliders allocated to us for this operation giving us more than enough man-power, so yes of course machine guns will be fully crewed. However, your 'please let me lie down a bit' is rather too nancy-boy for my liking and I daresay the rest of the chaps too. Good god man, make the best of your last week of training to build up some strength, I'll have no slackers in the British contingent. ( )

As for tea, I'm sure you will have been following my briefings closely. All men are recommended to carry Equipment Brewing Tea in their small packs and make the most of lulls in fighting to have a cuppa.

Wooo sweet. Was lucky enough to use one briefly when I went to Tudders and it was FUN! Heavy though.

Quality film :good: :good: although why they tried to pretend he was Italian baffles me.

Apparently the Hun have no less than THREE MG42s!! Plus they all seem to have tweaked Kar98s that can shoot about a mile.

I'm beginning to feel a wee bit nervy.
