Ok Folks, for those of you who haven't been to the sunny Isle of Portland, a few directions.
For those using Satnav the OSGB grid reference is SY 691 704
The postcode is DT5 2EG, this is actually for a house on the left ( opposite ) side of the road, set back a bit from the road but directly opposite the entrance to the quarry. If you enter the village of Southwell while coming down the A354 you have gone about 200 metres too far.
It is worth checking out http://www.specopsairsoft.co.uk site as they have a google map as part of their directions to The Rock which will give you a pretty good idea of the area you are heading for. The camping field is the one by the road immediately NNE of the quarry entrance.
Directions wise, all roads head for Dorchester, quite well signposted from about 40 miles away in all directions, that is Dorset, Deep South, Deliverance country.
From Dorchester take the A354 towards Weymouth, on entering / approaching Weymouth follow the signposts for Portland - stay on the A354 and you cannot go wrong ( it goes all the way to the sea - stop before the end). Go through Weymouth onto the causeway - quite obvious, big pebble beach on your right, sea/big harbour on your left, continue to follow the A354 to the top of Portland ( this will also be obvious as you climb the hill) at the roundabout at the top - The Heights Hotel will be on your left - continue straight on, continue through the village of Easton, pretty little castle on your left leaving the village, after about 500 metres you will see a viewpoint/ picnic area on your left, 200 metres on your right is your destination.
Asking directions could get interesting, they don't call it Fraggle Rock for nothing.
[edit by Steiner] Please note, when I went to the site today, my Tom Tom satnav did not recognise the existence of the fairly new Weymouth relief road, built to try and alleviate traffic problems for the 2012 Olympics. It is, however, easy to carry on - follow the signs to Portland. This lasted for about a 5-mile stretch.

Latest forecast from the Met Office is rain this afternoon, clearing later. Saturday - showers from mid afternoon.
Remember your sat nav might not know about the new relief roads near Weymouth - just follow the signs to Portland until it syncs up.
Take care on your travels - see you tonight / tomorrow morning.
