Poor Craig.

Outstanding pics all round.. I love that so many of them look like genuine WW2 pictures without being staged in any way.
the pictures of people just milling about are verry real indeed, more natural ,probably because in the period there was little time dureing action for photography by private individuals only by oficial photographers and probably most photos were taken by soldiers themselves.the black and whites or sepiar affect are fabulous.

The one of the Brit walking past the Sign post,
I think that is my favourite of the whole lot so far, very 'On to Berlin'.
I was pleased with my pic of the British filing up the other side of the the valley though, looks just like a real photo from the campaign.
As mentioned above, I think the 'relaxed' ones probably look the most realistic, shame we never got a brew on in our shellhole!

You do realise that it was a cunning plan of mine to nail the sign on directing you in the wrong direction for Berlin

He was heading for Biarritz. You do like the south of France, don't you?! ![]()

Very anoyingly I managed to bugger up one of my films getting it out the camera so most of the pics I took have been lost
Anyway, here's what I did get:
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942
"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942
