You probably have to register on the forum to get the pics.
Got the pic, just artwork sadly:
Can be seen on the guy on the left. He seems to be wearing home made camouflage as well, which is interesting.

Interesting... somehow those pouches don't look long enough though!
I am terriby sorry for diggin up this old thread, but this here:
It is quite easy to do the cross on the front. I will try to make some pictures of how it is done. I found it much harder
to get the puttees wrapped the correct way
.. Is my reason.
Could someone explain me what the correct way is to do the crosses on the front of the puttees? Ive been dumbstruck by this for a while now and I can't seem to find good references on the web. Sorry If this is off topic but since It was mentioned here I thought I'd just pop the question.

Holy threadomancy batman!
Sorry for dragging this topic back to life but I'm really interesting in finding some pouches for my type 100 and the chap on the far left looks like hes wearing some. Anyone know where I can find anything like that?
Regards,
Ralph
sure one of the place in japan does them , willhave a look tomorrow
this place maybe
None of those look like the right pouch to me. It doesn't help that I can't read japanese but I wonder if one of thse could be a type 98 lmg pouch, that should be big enough for a type 100 magaine.

Ralph
I had a look around at photos and a lot of SMG troops appear to just wear the Type 96/99 pouches. I don't know if they'd fit but given the round size they're probably a good fit.
This eBay item seems pretty close, even the toolkit might fit them...

I've ordered the set so we'll see how it goes when it arrives. I do remember seeing a picture of a soldier with type 100 wearing a type 99 pouch.

bugger just looked them and saw stuff that i did not know i needed till now , even though i suspect i wont use any of it lol though i have to equip a couple of friends for the weekender
I got my shovel from that guy. I'm eyeing up that nice leather and canvas bandolier and if these new pouches work out I'll get some more.
Tried my hardest to find the actual type 100 pouches but no luck. As for the chest rig in the osprey book, I've had a nose around some reenactment forums and no one can find any examples of then in use. Maybe it was one of those custom made jobs like the Japanese camouflage uniforms.

Sorry. Double post.

My 99 pouch arrived today and the sten mags fit snugly in the tool kit pouch. Could easily fit 5 or 6 magazines though the leather strap needs a new hole punched in it. The ammo pouch is a nice size for carrying bb's/speed loaders/grenades.
If anyone is planning on using an smg with their jap kit I'd fully recommend them.

Ralph

I'd definitely be up for that. That guy in the osprey book is Giretsu and while I know we ashould be doing standard infantry first it would be cool to do a Giretsu impression with the camo uniform too.
