Hi all! I'm new to airsoft as a sport/activity, but am looking at getting involved with WW2 airsoft as I like WW2 stuff! I've got a bit of kit already, as I have a US Airborne/Op. Overlord setup, though 82nd Airborne rather than the more traditional 101st! Of course, I don't have a rifle to go with it yet, but have my eye on the ICS M1 Garand when I've played enough to qualify for VCRA exemption. They're one of my all-time favourite firearms and also they seem like a good all-rounder from what I've read in terms of WW2 airsoft rules (some with restrictions on automatic weapons etc.). Plus my webbing is a rifleman's setup anyway so that fits the bill! Most of the stuff I've had for 10 years or so, and it will be good to put it all to good (skirmishing) use. ![]()
This site looks like the ideal place to start, with information on games etc. and of course all your collective knowledge and advice regarding kit, weapons, etc. - a good resource!

1st bit of advice always ask there are fonts of all knowledge on here and 2nd get to a game! No point having great kit in the wardrobe. Some games you can hire a gun and some people will lend on Lend it bendit pay
for it basis

Thanks for the welcome! I've a lot to learn (being a rookie) so will indeed be sure to ask! I may also get a German impression together at some point too, and as much as I know what I'm about with the US and British stuff, I don't know much about the German kit so the forum will be a great help in that regard.
I've just stuck up a post in the lending/borrowing thread for the up-coming Battle for San Marino: if I can borrow some rifles, my wife and I are going to try and make it up there for our first game and make a weekend away of it.
My M42 uniform and Corcoran boots do see use - I actually wore out my first M42 jacket as I wore it out and about a lot, so that's recently been replaced. I also use the Corcorans when out at the local airgun (HFT) club because they have great ankle support and the place is full of uneven ground and mud in the winter. But the entire impression hasn't been worn out for ages, other than the occasional fancy-dress party that is, so it will be great to put it all to good use!

Great stuff I am sure someone will have something on a lend it basis
Have you booked yet with Zero Bravo and told him which side unit etc you want to be on?
Look forward to seeing you and the wife there.
Come by the Soldatenheim for a drink Saturday night

Not booked yet, no - need to get us some digs for the night either side first. We would camp over there, but it looks like we'll be five-up in my Polo and won't have room for all the kit so it's looking like a Travelodge job.

hello and welcome
as above get stuck in asap , and always ask before buying as there is a wealth of knowledge to be found here on the best places to get the best price and quality kit or how to wear it.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......

Hello and welcome,
my usual advice if you have never, ever done Airsoft before is go along to a local site and play a few open days to get a feel for how it all works. Different style of gameplay but it will at least give you an idea if it is a hobby for you before you drop a ton of cash on something you don't like.
I'm sure San Marino wil be a good start though.
Cheers

Good call Martin! We're planning on having a couple of games at our local site as well, with the idea that if we like it we'll play there regularly so that we're not just playing the occasional event.
