Hello and welcome. Some organisers do allow younger players at events.

As regards questions, have a look at all the kit guides and other help threads first. :good: Any questions, put them in the relevant forum section.

Welcome to the forums! Any uniform questions you have go in the faction specific discussions (eg: General and specialist Axis discussion for German kit). Questions about weapons go in the WW2 Airsoft weapon discussion forum. Don't be afraid to ask questions, the community is friendly and inclusive. :)

Well I'd recommend playing a few normal airsoft games with rental kit to begin with just to make sure it's right for you. Once you've decided you like it, German will get the most use, as the Germans feature in every game apart from the remote chance of a PTO game (Hahah - not likely), and the MP40 is definitely the best starting weapon for a German impression. Alot of games will allow British or American for the Allied team, however some will insist upon one or the other, and (rare) Eastern Front games of course require Russian kit for the allies. It's all down to preference at the end of the day though, and the kit guides here are a fantastic little tool to help you start putting together your shopping list.

Most importantly, have fun with it! :good:

hello and welcome
as mentioned don't be afraid to ask questions or be put off by the debate that sometimes comes from the answers , we are a broad church from people in look's like kit all the way to full re enactment quality kit level so you may get a variety of answers depending on who gives them  as mentioned there are games you could join in at and there are always people happy to lend kit or weapons , even some organisers who can arrange kit for you , age is not really a factor , attitude is very important and we have some cracking younger player's who have exactly the right attitude.

Hello and welcome,

when thinking about guns one thing to bear in mind is that given your age it is illegal to sell Realistic Imitation Firearms to under 18s, you could have a two tone one though.

You can rent/borrow them though and Josh has a pile of MP40s, Stens etc to rent at his (Gunman) games.

Cheers

You can recieve a RIF as a gift. The issue is that the person giving you the gift would need to have a defence to buy it in the 1st place. If you can persuade a parent to go airsofting and get Ukara registered then they can buy a RIF and gift it to you. As no doubt you would need to bring a parent to most games anyway (even if its just a taxi service), why not get one of them involved?

Umm, it is not specifically prohibited by the VCRA, which isn't quite the same thing. afaik no-one has been to court yet to actually find out one way or another. The gifting thing does appear to be custom and practice as I know people who have done it.

I've realised that the advice about two-tones is probably wrong too. A number of sites say that it is illegal to for under 18s to buy any sort of airsoft gun, two tone or not, and for a RIF you additionally need a valid defence. So even for a two tone your parents would need to buy it.

Anyway, I would do some research about this stuff. I'm not a lawyer.

You cannot sell and IF (2 tone) to anyone under 18.
There is no offence of owning or being in possession of an IF or RIF, only selling, manufacturing or importing are covered by the VCRA. You need a valid defence to buy (only to protect the seller), you need a valid defence to paint a 2 tone as that is manufacturing a RIF and you need a valid defence to buy from abroad as that is importing. As long as no money changes hands your parents can buy an IF (2 tone) and give it to you. If a parent has a defence then they can buy a RIF and give it to you.
Either way you should get your Dad or another family member involved as then you get transport and the possibility of getting decent weapons. Plus parents will worry if you are out getting shot at and they haven't been along to see that it is safe and that the rest of the people there are not a bunch of weirdo's.

I am all at encouraging younger mature members to join our hobby but like water running down hill as this young man is only 14 just go to a Gunman game and hire one.
That sorts all the problems out especially as he may only get to 1 or possibly 2 a year due to travel arrangements.
Good luck young man hope to see you soon
