Hey all my names Jake, im new to WW2 airsofting but not airsofting in a whole.
A few days ago i was sitting in my room, lookin at my m4 and my modern day loadout and thinking..why, why have i spent all my money on something i dont want. Ive always wanted to have a WW2 loadout, ever since i was amazed by Band of Brothers ive been a very big WW2 fan.

Im thinking of goin for the 101st airborne, wich i think is quite popular.
Hope to make alot of new friends here, and hopefully will be airsofting with you gents in the near future.

Hello Jake, welcome to the forum. Don't feel you need the whole kit before you play - get involved and build the kit up as and when you can. :good:

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

Thanks for the welcome. I know this is probably asked and answered all over the forums, but even with the stuff ive been lookin at im still so confused. i want the 101st airborne look. but i dont even know where to start, as all the pics i look at the the coloring of uniforms is diffrent and stuff like that. is there any way i can do the uniform part on the cheap. like a shirt and trousers of sorts, and i have Dr.martains boots, i guess they no where near to what they would use but with some gaitors and stuff on could be alright. I could realy use all the help i can get.

thanks all.
Jake.

Welcome Jake,

Since you've at the very beginning of getting involved with CiA's WW2 games etc - please look at the 'Reference' section for count's as kit and weapons - it's the minimum you need to attending a game - which is the most important aspect - getting in the field !!, if you want to go further, look at the Kit guides section.

Also read the various kit, uniform and weapons threads in the U.S. Forces Section since you wish to go down that loadout.

If you can't find what you think you need information wise - post a thread in the relative section. There's loads of us that will help you in you quest.

Del

Welcome Jake
I'm new to all this aswell, have spent the last 5 years building up a working modern airsoft look and needed a challange, all the people that are a part of CIA are very welcoming and helpful to new arrivals, get a basic look to start with, like a set of BD's and a hat and you can always use this as a steeping stone to the next bit of kit, hope to see you at one of the games soon.

"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

hi jake,,,, if your going for the 101st look, how about buying a US helmet as your first purchase?? you can then get a pair of OG trousers and an OG jacket, as you get more money replace them an item at i time with the proper stuff. the important part is to get along to a game. take it from there.

Welcome Jake. You're right, WWII can be a complex and expensive airsoft niche but take the aforementioned advice, do what you can and get to a game. It's a bit like crack cocaine and once you're hooked you can flog all your modern kit and use the money for a pukka 101st loadout :D . Look at the fun the 101st had last week.... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IsqVpVIbyUw

Welcome to the madhouse. Glad to see another recruit for the 101st AB. I agree with scaley, get yourself a helmet, id stay away from the Soldier of fortune helmets...get on ebay you can find a post war M1 helmet & liner for under £30 if you shop around.

Few other shops you might want to look at for jumpsuits:

hi mate on what you said about the DR martens, i use them the 14 eyelet red cherry ones, theyre not that much different but someoneday i need to get some jump boots but because im 13 im gunna wait a bit becayse ill grow out of them soon enough, going for the 101st look you dont need gaiters, but with the DR martens you may need to buy some new laces because the ones ive got are black which isnt really correct but il get there soon enough. ive been doing ww2 airsofting for about 4 months and i think my kit has improved quite a lot.

(:
Tom.
