hi mate
with reference the sten problem ,ive made a few stens with fire selection as custom guns ,i used the whole m14 gearbox with the selector assemble still in place ,the trigger housing assembly has to be wider to accomadate but the agm is wider anyway to accomadate the width of the motor , it just depends how mutch you are prepared to compromise, there's a whole thread on useing electronics to lock a sten on single only with no definate solution ,if you are really interested i can post pictures showing how i did it ,but im not imediatly able to go into producing the nessary parts as ive got rather a lot on at the moment.

well as promised some pics ,the basick idear is that inside the main tube i have run a section of slightly smaller gage tube onto whitch are mounted the cocking handle, small sections of fake spring seen through the slot on the main tube and at the rear end an L shaped brackette that pushes the original m14 conecting bar at the back of the gearbox that takes the movement of the selector to the switch side of the box.this is used to give single or full auto by moving the cocking handle forward or back, ive fitted a micro switch to make a safety when the handle is pulled fully back.for your needs all you would have to do is weld in an L shaped brackette inside the main tube that permanently keeps it in semi ,there would be no need to make it as complicated.the trigger assembly housing has to be wider as seen in the photos ,but ive tapered it slightly to reduce the visual impact and in profile its not glareingly abvious.hope this is of some use.
ive taken the motor assembly off in some of the pics to make it clearer
ps if admin want to move this to more apprpriate place feel free,so long as mr cake can find it
