WWII airsoft is great in that male or female whatever your ethnic origin you can portray whatever unit you like. I have played in games and had a fantastic time and never noticed that players I was with or played against lacked the Y chromosone that would have qualifed them for joining the unit they were in.
I agree the Re-enactment area is more difficult. However Germany and USSR had Asiatic units. The USA had American Chinese serving in some units. The British Empire had troops of Chinese origin serving in the Far East in units such as Force 136 as well as the Nationalist Chinese forces fighting alongside the British in Burma. So if it is something you want to get into there are many portrayls to show us it was anything but a white peoples war.

If you want to attend CiA events rather than just collect I'd leave USMC out. There are no Pacific games for the foreseeable future.

Don't use films or TV shows as reference for what you should be wearing. Apart from the fact that the costume department gets it wrong a lot of the time, the pictures have been colour graded so you can't use that as a guide for what colour things should be.
