Well, im not entirely sure where to start so i suppose hello would be the best. im a 22 year old male with a keen interest in World war two and have been for many years (growing up with grandparents probably contributed to this). while surfing the Internet and on one of the various Website i use airsoft was mentioned and caught my eye. i have now been looking into the sport quite alot and found it to be very interesting especially with the WWII element.
Basically i was wondering if you guys the experienced players could give me some sound advice, possible Venues to check out to see if i like the sport first and so on and so forth. im based in Leicestershire, so far ive found Phoenix Adventures based in Mansfield, im trying to persuade my Girlfriend to come with me on the 21/22 of August as attending on my own might not be as much fun.
Any tips, advice and general help would be much appreciated
Many thanks
Daryl
Welcome Daryl
Hi Daryl, welcome to the forum.

Hi Daryl, welcome to the forum.
Some local site to you:
Grange Farm - friendly and welcoming chaps: http://www.grangefarmairsoft.co.uk/
First & Only 'The Embassy' CQB (might be a bit up close and personal for g/f for a first game) http://79.170.44.132/firstandonlyairsoft.com/uncategorized/leicesters-new-cqb-site-opens-mid-july.html
Free Fire Zone - near Bourne, Lincs. http://www.freefirezone.co.uk/
Urban Assault - near Peterborough http://www.urbanassault.org.uk/
Close Action - near Corby http://www.close-action.co.uk/index.html
I'd pay Grange Farm a visit for a start - local to you, not a massive site, good facilities, friendly & fun people.
Welcome to the forum. You will find there is a world of difference between most organised WWII airsoft events and a regular open day at an airsoft site.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
This is true but I'd thoroughly recommend a non-airsofter to give an open day or three a go first. Gives to a feel of what's expected of you (heh, some people don't like being shot at and you can only find that out by errr.. being shot at) and also gives you something to compare and contrast with when you get round to WW2.
hi guys and thanks for all the positive responses. didn't realise how close my local Airsoft place was. i will defiantly be checking out grange farm ASAP. sadly though my girlfriend has decided she doesn't want to come anymore. shes been watching a few to many videos on YouTube and decided its not for her.
i don't think the structure of the WWII games will bother me to much if im honest i was an Army cadet for 6years and took part in many exercises so im used to playing structured fire fights and scenarios.
Hopefully though ill head to a open day at the Grange farm soon and it will give me more of an idea of what airsoft in general is like and whether or not its for me.
Many thanks
Daryl
hi and welcome,
good luck trying to get the girlfriend to go, if she gets in to it , your sorted, if she dosent like it, you will be like 99% of people on here, and have to deal with the problems this entails
good luck mate and i hope you enjoy it,
just one thing, the ww2 games tend to be more serious and a slower pace, also i think the players are a lot more friendly,
although the open day is the best place to try airsoft (kit rental, not to serious and freedom to do what you like) dont play an open day game and think all games are like it, there not
