Hi,

been airsofting a few years now, interested in wargaming and military history since the 70s and have several mates who are re-enactors so WW2 airsoft was rather inevitable I guess. Most of my airsoft loadouts are 1980s Cold War, so complete noob as far as WW2 kit goes apart from various bits of militaria picked up over the years.

A couple of us were looking at the Devils Hill event in October, so hopefully see some of you there. We seem to be doing 'Luftwaffe Field Division', only the best for us :)

Been following the kit advice on the forum and it has been fun trawling all the cheapo sources of German gear.

Cheers
Martin

Hello and welcome to the forum and WWII airsoft! Feel free to ask in the Axis section about who the good (and bad) suppliers are, etc. :)

Hi Martin... I can see a good portion of Sheffield from where I'm sitting right now! lol... :)

Nice to know there are some local WW2 skirmishers. There are a couple of guys who go to our local site (Pheonix) but I think they are from Manchester. There was that big Arnhem game a couple of years back at the old, old Phoenix urban site as well.

My first preference was to go British, but my mate wants to start off with Germans. I thought it meant we'd use our flecktarn rigs and add a few other bits, but we both seem to have gone off and got a ton of German kit

Anyway, I've gone for a 1942 Swedish uniform conversion plus some repro and postwar gear. The Swedish tunic hasn't come out too bad, although the bottom pockets aren't right. I added collar tabs, shoulder boards and some more buttons.

Hoping to come to Devils Hill, but daughter number one has just announced she needs ferrying to University that weekend, so we shall see.

Cheers
Martin
