Hi there, name's Slim, I am moving to the U.K. in April 2016, and I am thoroughly looking forward to playing some airsoft in the U.K.

I have played for 9 years here in New Zealand for Canterbury Club CSG (Caterbury Softair Group), have seen Airsoft in NZ go from flying by night, to becoming a legalised recreation, and been part of taking CSG from a shifty rabble playing in the bush to an Incorporated Society with positive relations with customs and police. I have always played period kits throughout my years, from non descript Partisan to Kiwi Vietnam, US Airborne and Red army infantry, I have never had any interest in modern kits. We have had sporadic WW2, Modern and 'Nam themed events here, but as you can imagine, nothing on the scale or immersion you lot have in the UK, so a i'm a little excited about the opportunities in your hood.

I will be first landing in Andover, Hampshire with friends till I settle, I won't have any kit with me but will be highly interested in checking out some clubs and some of you cats before I start playing. I understand there is a registration process I will need to go through in the UK so that will be my first priority, becoming legit and learning a new airsoft culture. I am certainly keen in joining a crew if i get along with them. One final goal if it is feasible is to develop contacts and relationships between NZ and UK airsoft for the future with a view to making it easy for players to be involved if ever in each others backyard.

When I am settled and clued up with the laws and cultures in UK Airsoft I will have my US WW2 Aiborne kit, and Red Army kit sent over.

Anyway, any info or contacts I can scab before hand will be VERY much appreciated, I'll be keen to chat, discuss, whatever, just drop us a line. The more I have set up before I land, I guess the better off i'll be.
Chur, Slim.

Hello and welcome,

have a look at the FAQs at the top of this forum for some advice about the intricacies of buying Airsoft guns in the UK. Basically you'll need to join an Airsoft site and play three games to get your UKARA registration. Other routes are available but UKARA is by far the easiest. You don't need registration to own, borrow or shoot them, just to buy them.

There are lots of WW2 players down south though, various games in the calendar, and people usually happy to rent/lend gear if you don't have any. Standard Airsoft sites usually have rental gear too. Have a look at the events coming up and get signed on, hope to see you at something soon.

Could do with some more Allies for Op Benevento in August, loan gear is available. Its a weekend in August, it 'll be fun and you'll meet loads of people. It isn't that far from Hampshire to the Midlands.

Cheers
Martin

Hello and welcome
As soon as you get here ,get booked on a game ! Look on the forum and each game has a loan kit section ,borrow what you need to begin with and get your own kit over asap .always ask advice before a purchase , there's a lot of crap or wrong kit that can waist money .
Hope to see you in the near future.
