WWII airsofters don't generally affiliate themselves exclusively with one particular group as most will tailor their impression to the event. The hobby has moved on from the Any Axis vs Any Allies SISKs of yesteryear and the less flexible you are with what you do, the fewer events are open to you.

But on the other hand I have done every open day skirmish for about the past 5 years in WW2 kit (long before I knew these forums excisted) and loved it. You are always bound to strike up a conversation with other players and it for sure beats turning up with another m4.....
I'm pretty sure somebody would lend you a weapon if you came to an event. Many people lend whole kit out to newcomers - and usually for free.
