Welcome to the forum , have a look at the kit guides and choose a faction ,once you know what side you want to portray the the best place to start is with an infantry impression, its really tempting to go for an elite unit like Brit airborne commando's or American 101st airborne but we try to choose a day of a real battle to enact and portray the troops in the field and infantry is virtually always in play so you get to attend more games , to maximize your game play get a German infantry uniform as they faught in virtually every battle except in the pacific !
Always ask before you buy as there's a lot of crap or just wrong kit out there ,you don't need everything for your first game as there is always a kit loan thread attached to each game ,we loan out virtually everything on a you bend it you mend it basis ,so even if all you buy is a pair of trousers for your first game you could borrow the rest ,so buy good quality a little at a time or as you can afford it ,virtually nobody gets to their first game in stitch perfect brand new complete kit .

Welcome Andy. I am from West London - Ealing. Look forward seeing you in the field. Might want to sign up for some games next year. Places are usually limited. Hence worth to be on the list asap.
