Although I have been on this forum a while (to look at the pretty pictures
) I have decided to make my post now that my exams have finished and I feel I have more time to contribute towards the WW2 Airsoft scene. I have been paintballing twice yet it was pale in comparison to airsofting (Vulcan Airsoft in Doncaster anybody?). And upon wanting to join a re-enactment for ww2 I decided to see if I could find an airsoft community instead since I want to actually shoot something (instead of it being rehearsed) and don't want some stitch Nazi to frighten the be-jesus out of me.
Anyway onto were you lot may help me, I've decided that although I would like to continue with "regular" airsoft normally, I still wish to attend some WW2 events because they mostly seem to be more story driven. So Im asking for help here. Im 16 (17 on the 9th) so from what I've gathered I can own an airsoft gun I cannot buy one so I was wondering what would be the best way to start off because I don't fancy destroying a lovely WW2 styled rifle by painting it bright green.
I would also like help on uniform and a regiment to join since my birthday is coming up and I've already got a bit of money put aside for my driving test I will be able to gather up abit of money to buy some kit. I ideally would like to have a British loadout similiar to the Basic airborne impression in the kit guides.

Advice
Don`t get niche kit run of the mill will fit most games
grab a bucket of sense of humor ![]()
and get stuck in don`t be afraid to ask.
PS where are you based in the country please update details or post a town or area so it is easier to plan games for organisers

And hello back, welcome to the forum.
Your in the best place to ask questions there is a wealth of knowledge on here.
If your worried about having to mutilate a ww2 rif then dont worrt most members on here are up for loaning stuff at events, and if you want to try the games before you buy then Gunmans games are the place to go because Josh the event organiser has mountains of loan kit that can be had. Theres a gunman game pencilled in for november so keep a look out.
Welcome again
@Hanschen I am in South Yorkshire, Doncaster to be precise and don't worry I have a sense of humour I just didn't want to see I was coming out as a kid "tlkng lik ths so no1 undrstnds" and all that jazz. I have loads of DPM's since I'm in Air Cadets so some of it is issued but obviously its a few years off
@bigkie That's good to know I'll hopefully squeeze in a few games before Christmas time.
Also I was wondering about these custom airsoft guns I see here on the forum where they have been converted or scratch-builds, Im guessing you need to be signed up at a site with VCRA before you can go making one? If so im a bit annoyed because I fancied making my self a Lee-Enfield
hi and welcome
gun wise i recon you'r stuffed for a year so... build up you'r uniform and borrow a gun, there's no real point in 2 tone ww2 guns as the majority of games will frown on them.dont let that put you off though there's still plenty you can spend all you'r money on
,as previously mentioned going for a really cool loadout is not really the best way to start as it may limit what games you can attend where as a basic infantry kit will pass as commando with a few tweeks a denison smok wont pass as infantry, its dull but the best way to start.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

Hello and welcome,
to echo the comments above, you are probably best off building up a basic loadout for something fairly standard - British/German/US infantry, rather than anything exotic.
Gunwise, you can rent ww2 guns at Gunman games (and borrow uniforms too), people are often up for lending kit at other events too. You can't buy a RIF until you are 18, whether it is a custom gun or not, although I suppose you could scrim up a tone tone rifle, but you are probably best to just wait another year (I know that seems like a long time when you are 17....).
As Bigkie says, Gunmans next ww2 game is mid-November (no details up yet, just the date).
Cheers
