Since i assumed the US side would fill up instantly i was waiting for it to be nearly full before i putting the message, but im thinking now maybe a good time to put it up
anyway here it is, if you can think of anything i should put in tell me and i will
"Hi guys, After a long leave of absence from the forums I’m back. Some of you may have seen myself and two others at SWAT on the 9th of October in WW2 kit, and heard us mentioning a game we are organizing next year on the 3rd of June. I thought I would post up here so you guys have all the relevant info to take part if you want to.
First off WW2 Airsoft isn’t like open day airsoft, or even milsim for that matter, its not about winning or losing but about the experience and living in your very own war film for a day, you will be expected to follow basic orders, and lone wolf players will not be welcome as this detracts from the event. Also there will be kit requirements that you will have to meet before you can attend relating to weapons, uniform, and tac gear. We would ideally like it If any players who have played SWAT before attend on the German or French side, incidentally the French side is probably the best side to play on if you don’t have WW2 kit since the kit rules are just a classic waiters outfit. (or maid outfit if you so wish, )
As for weapons if you don’t have any period SMG’s and your playing French any pistol in RIF is fine (*Sorry no two tones, No lasers, scopes, torches, full auto etc) traditional looking shotguns maybe ok too.
*No two tones allowed because when players make the effort to dress up in WW2 kit, travel half way across the country and the organisers spend months building props and preparing two tones get a bit annoying, I know I argued against swat adopting a rule like this a few years ago for open days, I would still be against banning two tones at none themed open days but WW2 Filmsim days are slightly different. The Atmosphere of these events is more important than the actual gaming for the most part. If you only have a two tone, or no acceptable weapon you maybe able to sort out borrowing a weapon on the WW2 forum if you get signed up.
Now after all that, I realise this may sound like a pedantic stitch Nazi run event, but trust me it really isn’t as far as I am aware no one has ever been turned away from a WW2 airsoft event because there kit wasn’t good enough.
Basically the game is a cross between Dirty Dozen and Allo Allo as such you will be able to attend as U.S, German or French resistance. As I said before it would be nice If any site regulars could play on the German or French side so the Americans don’t have a good knowledge of the site. The Game plot will involve lots of twists turns, and special effects, certainly not one to miss!

Not bad Rooster
Maybe we still need to be more strict on the weapons, most auto pistols ok but not a push to an Uzi etc.
Most bolt action wood look rifles ok and wood M14's etc
They should run any weapon choice by you first before they turn up with one.
We are also going to say the price is £35 even to them as we don't want to upset the WW2 guys on here.
We also need to warn people on here that we are about to advertise on a none WW2 forum so if they want to go they should tell us now or risk losing a place.
PS no point in me saying anything on the recruiting thread as many seem to still have a sulk on with me, you would think at their age they would get over it
Also I suspect there could still be 7 US places as I don't trust re-enactors to turn up unless they have paid me!
As for Waladek he still isn't replying to me so don't know if he is going so maybe 8 US spaces.
Free speech is expensive these days!
I have sent Wladek one more PM.
Come on mate please reply as I am/ was counting on you to give support on this game.
Placing you on the inside with Rooster was giving you a key role.I understand you are annoyed with me but there are still spaces and that is what counts, the rest of them had their whinge and I bent over backwards for them at your expense and now they have done nothing to profit from it so stuff them.
Soon we will be opening up bookings on a none WW2 site but I want to hold off and have all the good WW2 players first with good kit.
I only want the none WW2 crowd to have a pick of the FFI list spaces that may remain.Nigel.
I hope this is ok with you guys, it is all I can do I think.
I think I may also send a PM to Gadge and see if he is coming as Gestapo as we can engineer a role for him interrogating the SOE during the first hour of the day maybe 20min then fling them in the cells.

Got a good reply
Sorry, I have been too busy the last few months to spare half a day to compose a reply (this has, up until now, taken me 2+ hours I do not have spare). Plus I don't like conflict, so I was quietly hoping it would resolve itself and people would express an interest in going once more.
When that silly booking plan occurred I told everyone that it was up to them to do it. It took a lot of effort to coral them in the first place, as it always does, and so I informed them of the situation and let them get on with it. Since then no one has expressed an interest to me in going, and I have been unwilling to force the issue. I cannot afford to go on my own.
I will state on the forum that I cannot make it due to a date clash, as I do not want to put any bad aspersions on the game, and do wish you all the best with it.
I suggest that if you want to see if the original group of people are wiling and able to attend, then you PM them, and if there is an expression of interest from them, then I may be able to attend as well.
But you should assign someone else the spy role, and if there is any interest from the people who do tend to drive me places, I will tag along with what they are doing. All the best
Craig
So I/we need to PM some of them then we may get Wladek back as well.
Free speech is expensive these days!
I have sent a PM to Gadge also this morning.
Hi mate
I was wondering if you would like to take part in our Dirty Dozen game/ event.
We may have a great part for you as Gestapo.
I know you are not able to be as active these days and that could be ok think along the lines of Heir Flick with a limp.We should be able to work some fun stuff in because we will have 2 captured SOE agents and at the start of the day it would be super cool to occupy them with an interrogation lasting maybe 20min or more.
We would then lock them up in a cell we have with a real steel bar gate. There is a chance we will have a interrogation room with an electric chair etc.
Anyway let me know?
Just had a thought with the electric chair I have some cheap kids handcufs and a field telephone with hand gen winder so real easy to give the guys a safe belt of AC if fixed to a wooden chair as an insulator

So lates update is Wladek is droped out also girl friend so things are going backwards
I sent a PM to CHThree saying Wladek may go if the others will go and now Wladek is out, just turning to crap
Gadge says he may be able to go though.
Have moved Spiers to Wladek slot.
EDIT
I just had a call from the girl friend she will go if we take all reference to slutty French maids of the threads
Hence you will see an edit I maid sorry made last night on the main game thread.

Im going to wait for either tiny or Porta to reply, then post it too swat
WW2 Weapons AGM Sten, AGM MP40
Sorry, been reading posts but not replying! its a pain on my phone. Porta is on his hols for a fortnight with the family so you wont be hearing from him for a while.
I reckon a post like that on the SWAT forum is ok, but is MUST specify that its not an openday blattfest and the whole event relies upon everyoner folloing orders! I know you've put that in rooster, but I just wanted to make sure its definately going in the post. Also, a link to kit restrictions could be good. i like that youve put in people should join the forum and ask to borrow kit if they're short, it shows a friendly atmosphere. Also, i think that if people want to book on we should ask them to join the forum and post in the booking thread, this shows their actual interest level in the event. If someone cant be arsed to join a forum, read the rules, and book a place, then do we really trust that they're interested in the whole experience and not just trying to get an airsoft day in cos their usual site is having a private evnt on? I reckon another link could be added from the last event too :- http://simplysoldiers.blogspot.com/2011 ... under.html
I know some of what ive said might sound a bit arsey towards the SWAT guys, but we do need to make sure everyone KNOWS and has read the rules, and the best way to know that is if they get their arses on the forum!
Anywho, thats my thoughts
My Two Cents.....

Maybe we need to advertise on other forums again like last year.
I did hope this time it would not be the case but it looks like people forget fast about what we can do.
We need to get this over 30 people and solid bookings.
At the moment I only have about 5 - 6 US I can count on being there.
We need more on all sides maybe I will have to relax the US kit and have Band of Brothers guys in again.
I may ask Spiers if he can drum some up from Dog Company.

I have been asked by someone if they can come and film,
what would your responce be, i was going to say yes, but he has to dress like a waitor.

Yes great we need a guy to film a lot of the German perspective I would say.
He does not have to be a waitor as such just in keeping I am sure we can think of something to fit.

Ok
I have now advertised on MANC-AS
http://www.manc-as.co.uk/forum/index.ph ... rty-dozen/
Free speech is expensive these days!
We are now down to 18 people as I have lost 3 more US as I suspected would happen.
It is now The Dirty Seven
All the Wladek guys have other things to do that weekend now, washing cars etc I suspect.
Maybe the Allo Allo side has killed things a bit as they don't think it is serious enough.
Free speech is expensive these days!
Now on airsoftsociety forum.
http://www.airsoftsociety.com/forums/f8 ... post482466
I may upload a diferent video laving the Allo Allo bit out as it may put some off who are more in for the Dirty Dozen side of things.
I suspect people may just now think it is all about Allo Allo
Myself I like the idea but not sure about others now.
I will be in the Lake district for the next 3 days.

We need to think of some ways to get numbers up fast
Next month I want to start taking in money but I need to know that SWAT are happy with the numbers compared to how they may fare on that weekend normal style.
I don't want to take money then have to pay it back hence why I leave it late.
We should have 30 people at least by April or things don't look good.
Maybe I need to work on the radar and promote that in the thread rather than keep it secret.
Also lend out some US kit for the day I have some looks like bits.
Free speech is expensive these days!
What about seeing if we can get gunman to come and bring up his hire kit?

What about seeing if we can get gunman to come and bring up his hire kit?
To be honest I think he is far to busy to go to other events as he runs his normal stuff on other none WW2 days.
It was great he lent us gear last year but I would not want to push it again.
We need paying people before I can give any free slots out.
How is it with the SWAT forum any interest?
Can we have a link to watch?
Free speech is expensive these days!
http://z3.invisionfree.com/swat_elite_f ... st=0&#last thats the forum you may need to make an account to see the thread
So far the only intrest is a person wanting to come and film.
I may chace up some of the members who i know have WW2 kit.
