Shelly PurnerNo worries, they know - he had a mild heart attack n was airlifted to wrexham from site ! Was stable and responded as soon as they gave him medication.... He is now in broad green, Liverpool n is avin an angiogram tomoro - he is givin the nurses stick so seems fine !
Will post on his wall when I get any more solid news, but it all seems positive !

Monte La Difensa Game Synopsis
Day 1 Scenario 1 – The assault on Monte La Difensa
Germans move out first, we will have a briefing at the copse (H23) and a squad dropped off to harass the allied advance. The Germans will then move up to Monte La Difensa (E21), diffuse the unexploded bombs and set up their defences.
The Allies will advance towards the copse with the intention of using it as the jumping off point for their attack but first have to send forward engineers with the bangalore torpedo to blow up the barbed wire at the road block and diffuse 4 Teller mines in the road to enable supplies to be brought up the road. German snipers will have to be cleared from the area by other troops protecting the engineers.
When the copse is cleared the Allies can begin their attack on Monte La difensa.
During this time the First Special Service Force (34th) will be moving up from M1 to attack the Germans from behind.

Allied – Tree copse
German – bushes to the right of their position
34th – where convenient behind the hill.
Lifetokens
3 per man? If Allies run out without capturing the hill they can re-fill them representing a new company moving up to continue the attack.
Hopefully scenario will last about 2 hours.
Day 1 Scenario 2 – The Radio Post
Following the capture off Monte La Difensa the Allies will move out as a combined force around the side off the hill and down to the valley to rejoin the road. They will be briefed on the need to destroy the German Radio post at C23 and will move up the road to their objective. (Nigel up to you whether you mention the decoder or just let them discover it)
Meanwhile the Germans will be briefed that our radio intercept unit has picked up the Allies orders and set up an ambush on the high ground either side of the radio post. Observers will be at the Radio Post (by the Zeltbahn with the decoder in it) and will signal the start of the ambush.
Half the Germans on both hills will have been briefed to move behind the Allies to cut them off.
Hopefully the Allies will fight their way to the radio post, capture the Enigma and Oddball will lead them around the front of Monte the La Difensa hill and down into the valley to the Airfield.
The Germans will pursue and harass but will not pursue into the valley.

German – One on each hill, then mobile when pursuing.

Hopefully scenario will last 1½ hours.
Day 1 Scenario 3 – The bunkers and the Enigma
The Germans will regroup on the hill overlooking the Valley and split into 2 groups, one led by myself will make a big show of moving down the valley and taking up positions in the bunkers by the lake.
Meanwhile Marsha will lead her force out of sight along the ridge line and down into the valley to recapture the Enigma.
When Nigel sees the Germans moving down to the bunkers he will split his force taking most of them to attack the bunkers and leave a small force to defend the Enigma.
When Marsha has recaptured the Enigma she will retrace her steps and take up a position on the Hill behind the bunkers (D16). When the Germans at the bunkers are forced out they will rejoin Marsha on the hill.

Marsha's force – 4 per man
Grubbers force – 2 per man
Allies – ¾ with Nigel, ¼ with Spiers ?

Day 1 Scenario 4 – The Hill at D16
The Allies now launch an attack on the Hill to try and recapture the Enigma.

Hopefully scenario will last about 1 1/2 hours.
Lunch can be taken after scenario 1 or 2 depending on how time is going.
If Scenario 4 ends early we can improve a fight in the bunker lines in the Valley.
Day 1 Night Scenario.
Allies move out first and conduct a fighting retreat across the site to the area we are doing the prisoner capture. Mobile regens, no tokens?
We brief the players on the capture scenario, the Allies take up sentry patrol positions, they will have their guns and period torches will help. The Germans will be taken to their forward base where I will hang a Lantern so they can find their way back to regen or bring back prisoners. The Germans will leave their weapons and will attempt to sneak up and capture the sentries. Prisoners will be returned to me for interrogation. When we have captured about a 2/3 rds of the Allies, roles will be reversed.
Day 2 Scenario
Following the attack on the Camino/Difensa hill mass the 15th Panzergrenadier Division has been pushed back several miles but still maintain a steady front against the Allies. Unfortunately Kampfgruppe Grubber has been cut off by the Allied advance and must fight their way out of the encirclement.
The Allies start at position 2 on the Quarry map, the Germans at position 1 which is also their regen point (I have a flag that Marsha can tie up on a branch to use as a regen for her force). Gruber will lead his force on a frontal attack while Marsha takes her force through the field and tries to come in on the flank of the Allies. When the Germans have captured position 2 they will proceed to 3,4,5 and finally 6. When 6 has been taken they have broken through the encirclement and must begin a fighting retreat down the other side of the hill to rejoin their unit, positions 7,8,5,4,3,2.
Regen
Attackers when hit go back to the previous objective marker to regen, No limit on regens.
Defenders when hit fall back to the next objective, no regen but must take up position there and await the next attack.

Nigel do you know if water is available on site? and any power for charging batteries? with 2 days of fighting plus a night scenario batteries will take a hammering
Also any idea what time we should turn up on Friday? I will be taking the day off work but may have to arrange for one of the lads Im bringing to meet me at home to pick up some kit as I dont think I can fit everything in the van.
Presumably we will have to pick up those ammo boxes from Taffy's shed and get them onto Monte? Obviously it will be handy to get as much as possible in place on the Friday.

I should be taking the tank down Friday probably afternoon about 1.30 2pm arrival but could be earlier, I won't stay the night as I have other things to bring gun Jeep etc.
That track from the farm house is so bad now I don't know how the tank will fair on it I don't want to break the tracks as they have 10" deep ruts now (from memory was had for my jeep). May need to take a spade and level them a bit could take a while. 
I am told there will be water will chase up power for charging.
Taffy is on the web so you can PM / email him with any stuff just like I am. He has said his son will be there on the day to sort things and he hopes to also turn up but taking things easy.

Something I have kept off the forum is Taffy site owner/ runner had a heart attack 2 weeks back but he is getting better so his son is going to be there, Taffy may also as he wants to be there but will take it easy.
You should look to try and get there by 9am, as you are not camping you will not have all that to mess with but I will try and come over and see you, my mobile is 07512239777 and should have that with me. I may also provide you with a backpack PMR radio set so you can comm with us.
Yes carry food and ammo you can dump it just before the hill battle and collect later.It is missions as we need to re-group and re-brief several times over the day. You will get your own life token box I will bring over to you. We are planning a rule of 3 lives per person per mission so if there are 10 of you that is 30LT's in a bag attached to an ammo box one of you will carry. I suggest you dump the LT box with you food and ammo so each time you are hit you go back and drop a token in the tin.
If you use all your tokens and don't get the Germans off the hill then call me on the PMR set and Alex (Spiers) and I will work out what to do.
If a few of you could print out a copy of the map for yourselves on the bottom of the mission brief page that will help.I hope this event works well we have good numbers attending now and thanks for getting Germans at one point it looked like a cancellation may have been on the cards but everyone has turned it around.

We need to try to coordinate so that the 34th have time to make their route march and hopefully arrive after about 1/2 an hour of probing attacks by the main force
I think kick off is 10am so brief about 09.30ish.
People should aim to be there for 08.30 if they can.
