last thing i saw disscussion of things for resistance to hide guns in
so i salvaged this large suitecase, could probably get a few stens in there maybe some Pyro ect.

Yes mate all good I also have stuff.

Does the scope work?
Ah but we don't have 240v so no anyway.

I have some old smale B&W TV's Russian that work on 12VDC and can have a radar display video played into them from a portable video CD unit I have.

Just hope I can make a dish for this game.

Case is fine and if leather always handy to cut up for bits anyway.

I reckon this should be our official 'props' thread, so we're not tieing up the le chateau thread! Tried to change the thread title but it wont let me, maybe rooster can change it?

Anywho, looking at radar screens and things, im gonna see if i can make something up that will look like a bank of radar screens with some buttons and lights and stuff on it. the idea is clear plastic 'screens', painted black on the back but with a couple of concentric circles and a couple of blips showing through, then a few green LED's behind, possibly flashing to give it that 'i'm not working properly' kinda look. In all honesty, it could just be a long plastic front and then use cardboard/wood/whatever to give it depth and make it look like screens. Not a great description really but i'll see about starting to knock summet up over the next few weeks :D

Right back to the game

Also the FR arm band need only be a cross of Lorraine on yellow or blue, I would say white but it would look like a bandage.

Or this but more work to make.
Maybe a simple idea is a rectangle of blue cloth and red with vecro on.
People could be given the option to make their own and bring them it would be more in the spirit of the FR making their own kit.

We could have some suitable FR photos Tiny as a simple guide.

A great one for the Women here

EDIT
Maybe we need a general kit guide thread with pictures of some of the characters to inspire people to take part.
When the game was first posted people loved the idea and thought about the kit we need to get them back on this.

If this went up now someone may be tempted by this.

OK
With the radar I have a nice idea.
If we had an old 12" portable TV set we could play this video into it on repeat.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWo9oYNhzD0

We could set the TV inside a box with some dummy knobs on.

I have a video CD player and maybe a flash card video player for the video feed.

I have an old Russian 6" screen B&W portable that can run off 12V.

Here is what it can look like with an edit :happyswing:

Ok I have made 80% of the radar screen box.
I will post some more info and photos of it later in the week.

I can't find any good pictures of one so I am just making it up and will call it (GEMA Bereich Detektor) or GBD.
I think GEMA is the make and Bereich Detektor means Range Detector.

Now I need to think on the radar mast design, I think it should be the GEMA COAST WATCHER.

Also do we post some of this prop info on the forum to get more interest?

We could ask for a German to be Dr. Rudolf Kuenhold the German Radar guy we can try to capture in the afternoon.

Loads of good docs we can print and have on the site. :good:

OK guys I have an idea

Once I have the radar bit looking ok how about I make a video for the SOE guys but show it on the open forum of the game section under a SOE section.

I can use some footage of the German video above as captured intel and also edit some B&W footage of my gear.

It can have a CLASSIFIED SOE stamp on the start of the video.
I can do some narration in a plumy English accent describing the SOE mission.

Good evening gentlemen
This is a briefing for your mission OPERATION BITE BACK ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Biting
This is classified for SOE only we must not let word of this missions objectives be known to our US allies.

At the start of the war we British had the belief that when it came to RADAR we had the upper hand.
However in recent months we have begun to suspect that the Germans may have surpassed us in this technology.

This footage is captured film showing some of the equipment you are to acquire.

The objective is to capture equipment from a coastal radar station that is also a development site for the GEMA radio detection & ranging equipment.
It is important to retrieve any equipment and documentation on hand at the site.
All technology retrieved is for British use only.

It is also imperative that the radar station is put out of action prior to the fist of June.
You are to be dropped on the 20th May and you should contact people of the local resistance who will assist you in this mission.
This footage is captured film showing some of the equipment you are to acquire.

One completion of your mission you are to go into hiding with our resistance operatives who will receive further information.

Does anyone know where to get an old (fecking big) dish?
See here.

Obviously we still keep to the SOE being prisoners on the day but this will give more info about the game and still not give a total picture.

Here it is not 100% yet :D

or for old look

OK guys as with the last game I want some sound effects/ music over the event.

So I have found a load of period German music none military.

So timing wise what do we think as we want a Klaxon siren like last time how long a delay before the siren 40 min sound good?
I may be able to work a second set of audio track to be manualy switched on but it is easier to just sort a long track out now.
