Well, the interest for this seems high enough with chaps busy buying appropriate kit even though they don't have a ticket!
Given this will be a 20-a-side game (the site won't take more than this without players covering the site) then how are we to restrict numbers? We can't realistically make it a members only game again - I think the backlash will be too high (elitist CiA, how can we get to games if you have to be a member and to be a member you have to go to games, blah blah) and in any case we do need new faces. We offered Die Glocke to members and only just scraped a full list.

There almost certainly other methods that haven't popped into my head and indeed further pros and cons but I'm swaying to Members first - booking window of one week, then open to all as a workable option - a compromise certainly but it does have a degree of certainty about it and is reasonably 'fair'. And it allows a good degree of selection - which I'll elaborate if needs be.

Yes, good idea to make it members only booking but privately done to avoid ill feeling.
I can stick the booking post up then fill the pre-booked places withing 10 minutes if necessary.
Yes, if we have a locked booking thread so none of this 'Money now sent' sort of posting - which can lead to arguments if someone feels another jumped the queue.
I'm pretty sure you can refund fees with no charges (within a time period) so its not a problem if we are over-subscribed.
