Well, I've decided to make do with my RAL6006 helmet, which I've just put decals on.... and then scratched off half the tricolour.

If you wanted to do SS, Totenkopf would be an ideal unit to do as they were quite prominent in the campaign...and it so happens I have some spare collar tabs for sale as i do TK re-enacting as well!

Apparently, Steingraus were still being worn in Barbarossa, and were reissued in later war when shortages hit, so they are good for nearly half the war!

Heil Kameraden,
we would like to show up for this event with a few fellows from Germany and netherland. We would come as SS-VT.... we are completely prepared for this, so all details are like 1940, we would wear the SS VT tunic M37 in fieldgrey, the first style runics with number of the regiment, the STONEGREY1!!!!!!!! M35helmet, may with helmetcover (yes, that item was standart at this time) fieldgrey M36 or M37 trousers, Knobelbecher (jackboots), only the Officer with MP40 and LEATHERpouches (like it was given with the MP38.... the rest completely with 98k and all the fieldstandart stuff, like gasmask, bajonetts etc., even like a brandnew and fresh unit... and not to forgett, no russian shields, no easternfrontbadges etc. usw... For the night the greatcoats, so the guard can do a perfect duty...-- attachment is not available --

hmmmmm small pickle of a question on the no field cap/helmet query. I've two helmets, ones fj which fits fine but has no cover (obviously won't go with my heer loadout) and then I've the one I wear for heer, that isn't the best fit in the world and as its a bulgarian ground down, tends to look 10000000000000000000x better with its splinter cover on :?

Right best dig the tunic out as I need to finish that if I'm doing heer as the M44 besides being too late in the war to have been issued, is now a very nice shade of KM blue

One thing about period, it is NOT period the the Waffen SS is wearing NO camo at all, you will even from 1938 in Czech find Fotos of the Regiment Deutschland with helmetcovers, in Polen the Leibstandarte and Deutschland Regiment had helmetcovers and partly smocks... the M38 (1938!!!!) smock in Platane was easy to find. Much more interesting and where we should look for, that mostly the prewar Runics where worn and also the first pattern SS eagles.... The helmet, I dont know who found it with the apple green, but this colour was used in Austria and czech, then in poland it was stonegrey... untill 1942, then in russia you will find again a bright green.... but my dutch comrade is specialist for this.....
Just only for the axis kits... but we got orders and we follow.... :good:
