Indeed a big thankyou to Neill and Andy for all their hard work. Also thanks to the GZ crew for hosting us (and providing some lovely stew), Gadge for his character play and of course the great players, both vets and first timers for being there . A great weekend.

Oh and a honourable mention to the German guy who picked up my waterbottle on saturday, forgot your name and to thank you in person. :slap:

Yeah I really enjoyed this one, well worth coming down for!

Thanks to all for such an enjoyable game, to all the US troops for not staging a mutany against me, and to all the Germans... providing ample targets in the usual gamely sportsmanship way! 8)

Thanks to Neil and Andy for organising a well thought out plan, and to the Ground Zero staff for the use of the site,... it was superb!

Nice to put all the names to faces, especially those on the US side, was a privilege playing alongside you all.

Most memorable part of the weekend..... Getting Bayonetted by Lardassmonkey, and then watching half my team run past me (including 2 medics) with the SAS and downed pilot... and then as a result of which getting captured! Fine show! hehe 8)

If that was the one in the dead zone near checkpoint charlie, that was me Jimbo :)

Would also like to add my thanks to Andy and Neil for all their hard work, and the GZ crew who continue to maintain their reputation as excellent hosts.
As a WW2 airsoft first timer it was a great experience and the handing in of lost kit etc, like when Pimms lost his iron cross and that was handed straight in, shows the difference in character between you guys and some conventional "walk on" type airsoft players. It was a pleasure to meet so many people and I've definately got the bug!
Sorry for being one of the ones who whimped out but hey ho, hope to redeem myself at the next possible opportunity :D

Oh my god, that was fantastic! im not usually allowed to cook, let alone play with melon shaped explosives and vulnerable pilots, lol.
to the rest of the Sas team, I tip my beret to you, and to the american guys, thanks for drawing fire and bringing that pesky gadgeshaped fascist partizan to us, and to the german team for not hearing us everytime we blew one of your precious melons up! what can i say other than thankyou!
unfortunately I cant make operation husky but count me in for the next one, and the next one and the next one,etc...!

By the way, the result was a draw -

First session went to the Germans, primarily because they amassed 180 points of captured intel, to the Allies zero.
Second session went to the Allies, who gained more objectives - in addition, I got killed about 4 times, which tipped the balance.

Yes - thanks for the game Steiner and Neil.

Best bit for me was assaulting Villeneuve and extricating "the spiv" under fire from the germans - very exciting.

Also really enjoyed the little game on Sunday - our first attack on the (wrong) MG nest and chasing the snipers away was better than the day before.

By the way, there's probably a german out there thinking I didn't take a hit when they gave me a good burst from a hut in the village. I was behing a tree and leapt back into cover but bbs were smacking into the tree and foliage and two hit my rifle rather than me - there're two dinks in the magazine.

I don't think rifle hits count so I carried on.

Excellent game and kudos to Andy and Neil for overcoming a variety of issues throughout the day to ensure some quality scenarios. Also a high level of sportsmanship from everyone on both sides, which always makes for a good game. Apologies once again to the GI who sustained a blood injury due to carelessness on my part which I can only put down to a case of end-of-day-itis.
