I'm sure I posted this yesterday - was there a restore back to a previous point?
Anyway, for those of us about 5 hours' drive away, it would be rather arduous to drive on Saturday morning, so I think some of us are considering staying overnight near the site. Oswestry Travelodge is (coincidentally) where a few of us stayed the night before Churchill's Revenge - only 10 miles from the site.
Who's interested ?

How much is a night in a Travelodge? I've never stayed in one!

Not much for a shared room. Certainly beats setting off at about 5am!

Oh I agree some kip would be needed before we do the game, Setting off at 5am means getting up at 4, to then go on untill midnight, is way beyond me. However I warn you all that I snore like a chainsaw in a tin factory, sorry cant help it I'm asleep ![]()

If its the A2C site there a cracking campsite only 10 mins as well.

Its not that site we used for A2C Josh, this site is a good deal further North. Oswestry is probably the largest town nearby.
A quick Google for camp sites:
http://www.aboutbritain.com/campsites/campsite6048.asp
And this from the site owners:
Local Camping Facilities at Glyn Ceiriog
There are campsite facilities are only 10 min drive away from the RV point in Glyn Ceiriog. They are on the right hand side of the valley road(B4500) from Chirk to Glyn Ceiriog at a small village called Pontfadog. You will see a small sign showing Camping and Caravan Club.
Pitch is £10.00 / night
There are toilet and showering facilities on the site and there is a village pub 10mins walk away from the site.
Address is Stabl-y-Ddol, Pontfadog, Nr Glyn Ceiriog. tel 01691 718846, owner is Mr Huw Edwards.

Guys, having just checked, the Oswestry and Wrexham Travelodges and PremiereInns are all full for Friday 9th.
Both Shrewsbury Travelodges have availability though and they're reasonably close.

I have to agree with Stu. If we are going to do a 24 hour then lets get over there on Friday and have an easy Saturday morning. I'll mail you and John - I'm happy to drive and I can pick both of you up coz I am the furthest East of the three of us and I have the biggest car, but it would be good to hook up with some other folks if anyone else is staying over. Happy to camp or travel lodge/hotel it. As long as someone finds somewhere and tells me where and when to show up ![]()
Looks like it may be the campsite for us three, also. Thanks for the link, Chommers

You don't need to get there quite that early. We kick off at midday.

But, please bear in mind that it's "game on" at midday, so allow time for booking in, kitting up, moving to start points and general fannying around beforehand.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Yeah, I was thinking more from the point of view of get ready early, so im not having to rush about as midday approaches, would dread to leave something behind.
Admin bomb time ![]()

So is there any consensus on this yet ? We are up for coming over on the Friday, but cost pressures mean a camp site would be better than a travel lodge.
The Shrewsbury Travelodge would probably cost the same as a campsite shared amongst three of you...

i'd love to meet up night before saves the early morning grind. plus i'm e first timer so it would be nice to meet up and chat instead of being dumped in at the deep end.

The man has a point. So have people decided ona pre-event meet up or is it all random and then turn up on Saturday morning ?
