OK, help. I need a tent. I have 2 british bivvy tents but NO POLES ! Any help would be appreciated. I will see if I can scavange some wood to make poles. If I remember correctly they only need 2 short ones, but if I can bagsy a loan tent that would be amazing.
Ta.
No problem. We'll bring the CiA pool tents!

Sabre Sales had Brit pup tent poles in stock a couple of years ago. They may still.

I'll try and sort poles out for mine, but if I can have dibbs on a CIA one that would be great.
One question...what's the deal with groundsheets for the British tents ? Is the idea that soldiers were too tough to need one, or is there a seperate attachment ?
No separate attachment. That's where an IPK sheet comes in useful since we don't have bales of straw a real camp might have. Or you could just use a couple of cut open black bin bags maybe.
Or even spruce branches, or bracken.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Spruce is aromatically preferable to bracken....

Every soldier carried a rain cape, this doubled as a groundsheet or even as a shelter itself.
Or even spruce branches, or bracken.
This is what I am planning, one less thing to carry!
I did wonder about the raincape/poncho option. I'll improvise...

I have a spare IPK. PM me if you want it.
OK folks, if you need to borrow a tent please make it abundantly clear on this thread.
I'd rather not cart four pup tents to the event, so if you want one, let me know.
I'll probably bring two as contingency anyway, but need to know if I should bring all four.

I'd like to borrow it, if it's not already been spoken for

H/S I'm good for a tent, I'm getting one from Steiner, but if you could remember that Brit camp bed, I'd really appreciate it
