Heh, nice of him but... that £80 Guy "owes" to CiA? That was because a radio was lost at A2C and Josh charged Guy for it and in a convoluted way meant CiA didn't get the £200 we were owed for running D-Day+2 for him!

On the subject of radios - we now have four '37 large packs with straps (thanks to Yith for fetching them) for the radio packs. I have worked out a way of making a mike & headphone set without any rewiring and minimal construction - so that they look the part. I'll try and illustrate this over the weekend.

But 4 won't be enough. 1 for SAS HQ, 1 per 4 man patrol and 1 per Jedburgh team adds up to at least 6 or 7 and that's without the Germans.

Some units *not* having radios might be a good thing. You want a recce team to stay nice and quiet and fuck-off when pinged. Giving them a radio might make them think that they can call in reinforcements, therefore making them more combative than they should be?

Yeah as Jay says, limited radio use only. They didn't have radios on them, they were dropped with them so will need recovering. We don't want a modern comm'd up battle - just messages sent to/received from London and very limited team talk. For side comms generally lets keep it real - they can use their legs!

Germans only need one radio for interception - we don't need them for side comms. (Jay said he could source a tornister)

Spoke to Guy this morning - has been in contact with Ed to confirm all is OK. Apparently there will be more felling on site but not until Sept/Oct. Guy will give you a ring Pete to sort your availability for a recce between the two of you then post up date for the rest of us able to attend if we can.

If you're in touch with Guy, can you tell him I'm at home almost all day on wednesday, on thursday evening, or on sunday please, if he wants to call me? (I'm working late shifts today and friday and I'll be at Redditch all day on saturday, doing a recce for Milton Hall).
