I'll be fresh from a bombed out factory/workshop, looking for payback!

Long range weather forecast is drizzely so packing a raincoat.

I was going to sort out a home guard proper uniform, but as coming by public transport and limited car space for the journey home, Looks like its one suit of clothes special for the event and 1 suit for journey.

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

I'll be bringing some spare BD and denims - lets see what fits you.

If not, a collarless shirt, turn up trousers and some boots would do really, thats all the early Hg had.

You won't even need a gun - just a broomstick will do.

Oh that is sorted, You know I said I was going for the "I'll be fresh from a bombed out factory/workshop, looking for payback!" look?

I picked up an old school chore /overalls jacket (buttons, not poppers) many moons ago. To go with it some primark chinos (£6), flat cap (£1) and uniglo waistcoat (£7)to go with it (I've Dyed them all industrial dark blue to match the jacket, like they have been dyed to hide oil stains).

It ties together other stuff I already have well as I have grandad shirts, braces (have sewn buttons on the chinos for them), bags etc.

So I should look the part. Also on pale stubble background, I should stick out a mile! :slap:

Just looking for some thick woolen socks with holes in to sacrifice for impromptu hose tops/leggings.

I was thinking of bringing my fake denim BDs and 37 pattern webbing for wearing for one of the days. But to be honest with space at a premium maybe best left behind (the webbing adds real bulk to the pack size, as much as the denims and helmet/cap combined). As lift back is sorted (a Sunday only attendee) but space is a premium I'll wear something for the journey that is semi acceptable in the modern day for the journey down but could be fuzzed up for period civis should the need arises.

Don't joke about the broom sticks, as a larper I do have one of these

in my "rubber sword" collection and I am off at a larp event this weekend so heavens knows what I could find :P

Barnham station is actually the closest with the cab fare being about a fiver. Most trains that go through this part of the world, go through Barnham. Ford can be a bugger if you get caught by the level crossing.

Sod that, pm me for my number if you're really stuck, and I'll come and pick you up. It's way too far to lug all your kit. a good five min drive through country roads with a 30 and 40 mph limit.

I wouldn't ask anyone to do anything I wouldn't be prepared to do myself, and I wouldn't want to do that walk. I'll be at the ranges all day Friday making sure everything is all set up and ready, and it's only a short drive, so no problem.
