This area is a little private area for us 4...

Right... First job we need a new welcome post in the main forum.

Something that welcomes people to doughboys, says what we are and tells people what they need to do to join.

We should need a required kit list for that I would think? Me and Lipton were just discussing, or should I say he was telling me (I learn all the time) what this would be.

From the memory of our conversation/my lecture it was

Brown boots (obviously roughouts preferred)
Gaiters
Wool/HBT trousers (though I also learned that HBT's were issued in 44 and not earlier so I will have to get me some wools)
Wool/HBT shirt
M41 Jacket
Tan webbing - not sure what this wants to be on 'required', Belt (Garand/pistol+pouches), Doughboy pack/suspenders, water bottle and medic-pouch-thing
M1 helmet
1st infantry/82nd Airborne badge

and a gun, M1 Garand preferred

But more importantly we need that opening post...

HBTs... they were around for ages. But only worn in battle in NWE in '44 as far as I know.

They're great for far east stuff as well :)

Tan webbing is correctly called "OD3".

"medic pouch thing" = carlisle dressing pouch

Gaiters are I believe properly called leggings.

Good day to need it :slap: . I would right something now, for approval, but I am sort of chasing a 4pm deadline for too many words on a dull subject (time management not particularly me...) Dean should be back from work early afternoon and I can ask him to start writing on the non-internet computer to transfer when I'm done?

Is it wanting a long involved post - like the PBI one, ore something shorter?

I must not think about it just now as my skills of procrastination are immense.
